Shahrir, Azalina Deny Knowing Youth Allegedly Sodomised By Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) -- Two Cabinet ministers on Monday denied knowing 23-year-old Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan who claimed to have been sodomised by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Both Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad and Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, when approached at the Parliament lobby, said the separate photographs of them with Mohd Saiful posted on an Internet blog had nothing to do with the sodomy case.
Shahrir said Mohd Saiful could have had the picture with him taken during the Umno general assembly last year, going by the Malay attire he (Shahrir) was wearing in the picture.
Azalina said she could not remember when the photograph with Mohd Saiful and a group of students was taken nor the occasion.
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed, who had also been photographed with Mohd Saiful according to a picture posted on a blog, could not be reached for comment.

‘Anwar is a drama queen'

Meanwhile, three other Umno ministers also denied that they were part of any conspiracy.
Photographs of Saiful with Shahrir Abdul Samad, Mustapa Mohamed and Azalina Othman Said appeared in the Internet yesterday, fuelling speculations of Saiful's involvement with Umno figures to topple Anwar.
"I don't know him personally, I don't know who he is and where is he from. I don't remember talking to him personally," Tourism Minister Azalina told reporters at lobby.
She said the group photo where she was featured with a group of students including Saiful was mostly likely taken when she was the youth and sports minister.
"I think I look very fat then (in the photo), now I have lost weight," quipped Azalina, also denying she was any part of the alleged conspiracy.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Shahrir said: "Although I'm not photogenic, but I took a lot of photos with many people... the photo was probably taken during the last Umno AGM but I don't recall who he is."
Shahrir also took Anwar to task, saying: "It (the entire incident) is too much (and) seems to be like a drama, more so Anwar is a drama queen."

tunku : shahrir said it right this time, anwar is a drama queen, he can't be the king, can he?? anwar is just trying his best to find excuses .

I don't see what the fuss is about THE picture..or is that because the PKR side did not think people would see the rest of the pictures. seem like pretty ordinary photographs some students on some visits to some official functions would take. just another plot in the ruthless process of king-making?
