Show us the report, says AnwarKUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim lashed out at the police saying that to date they have not given him a copy of the police report of the sodomy allegation made by his accuser Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
He questioned why despite repeated requests the police report was being kept from him and his lawyers.
“Is it so that they can keep amending and amending and amending it to fit in with the statement that I have just given to the police? I gave my statement for five hours yesterday (Wednesday) and for another 30 minutes this morning.
“If they give the report to me now, how am I supposed to know that it is the original? Are they waiting to make up the ‘perfect’ police report?” he asked, adding that each time he sought a copy, the police said they had been instructed against giving him the report.
tunku : anwar is acting as a moron again with his team of lawyers. i guess his lawyers too are morons. there is no such thing we can get a copy of police report of someone else especially when you are the suspect of the case.not even his lawyers can get the copy.so we hopes that anwar will stop with this melodrama again and again.go and check with the laws authority if you people still not clear about this.

This idea of getting Saiful's police report is absurd.
How can he even think of doing so?...HE'S THE MAIN SUSPECT IN THE CASE and yet he DEMANDED SPECIAL request.
He's not even a menteri, or an MP..or anything.

I'd suggest that the police as well
as the Minister (Syed Hamid) not
to bow to Anwar's unreasonable
requests.
No doubt the DPM has given instruction
to handle Anwar's case with decorum
and respect but I think the police
have been accomadative to the extend
to forgo the condition of no-bail in
such a rape/sodomy case.
The police even considering bringing
in foreign DNA experts to satisfy him.
Lets not start a precedence in the
expense of the tax payers' money to
bring in the foreign experts.
Has the police no confidence of
their own forensic team?
But, since yesterday, the court has
issued an order for Anwar to comply.
If he still refuses, then it's a
contempt of court and he'll be
subject to police arrest again!
Maybe this is what he wants.
He is an attention grabber and
the government has been dancing
to his tune.
Why the need for the PM's assurance
every now and again not to harm him
while under investigation?
Why is the government so concerned
what the world thinks about how we
handle Anwar's case.
We have our own set of law.
We have our own experts.
As long as we follow the law to
the T, why should we give a
damn to what others think or say.
If Anwar does not believe in the
system, in the law of this country,
please by all means relinquish
his citizenship and seek asylum in
any of his favourite country.
Better still the government could
throw him into exile to any of the
islands (of his own choosing) on the
world map.

However, I do think it was necessary, the personal promise by Pak Lah (which was kept by the way) that he will not be harmed when he's in the police custody, given the (legitimate) concern that the black eye incident will be repeated. And the call and suggestion for an independent foreign forensic investigation team is justified too, the ppl's confidence in the integrity of our system has been eroded to a greater low like never before, what more with the Police Chief having an interest in this case (deniably, given his head-lock with DSAI), the move to establish independence and transparency is good, in any case. what is mind-boggling is how Anwar is rejecting ALL of these now. what is it that he wants?

Anwar wants this to fall unto himself, and in turn used this as an advantage to gain publicity.
The Rakyat is becoming more and more clever and mature that they'll be able to understand this much-hyped drama that's staged by Anwar sooner or later.
Please tell me under what Enactment an accused or a suspect cannot get the police report. All of you have gone bonkers with your hatred of Anwar and unwittingly destroying the country and the judicial system.A police report is a public document. What is not available is the police statement.I have no problem in getting the report on behalf the accused over the last 40 years.
Saya rasa Anwar tak ada hak untuk meminta polis untuk serahkan laporan yang dibuat oleh Saiful. Saya rasalah. Tolong betulkan jika saya salah.. Bagi saya apa perluny beliau minta laporan tu? pls check with the Law authority, they will let you abt it. you can't get a police report of someone's report especially when you are the suspect. only saiful can have the report which he made.
for example, yr neighbour came to yr house and rape you, you lodge a report with the police.you think your neighbour can get a copy of yr report?
Anwar is curious to know what details had the police wrote behalf on Saiful statement to the report.
Why is he so curious? Because he scared of the authorities would set him up and ended up like the old previous case in 1998. But, did the authorities really do that?
Anwar itself a suspect of the case. As if I'm the suspect itself, how do I know that the other defendant giving the truth statement in his reports? I suppose Saiful should voice out against Anwar too.
Well, of course the accused person cant get the police report. What do want to do with saiful's report anyway? trying to make fun of his statement in the press? BAH.

Also think this way: If we were the one being accused, and had an experience before that charges against us were changed mid-way during court proceedings, what would be our response now that we are accused but not yet charged?
I trust we need to treat anyone as human, no matter whether one calls him a moron or otherwise.
