ISLA MAGARITA (Venezuela), July 5 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ought to use a proper forum to deliver his views on the oil issue instead going to the streets, Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek said.He said a debate was a more civilised platform to voice out at the present moment compared to street demonstations and therefore Anwar should make use of his readiness to debate the issue on July 15 so that the people could make their on assessment.
"It is an opportunity for him to state his views. I have points backing the goverment. Let's meet face to face, let the people judge.
"Rallies are not necessary. This is Anwar's old method. He must remember he is not longer a student leader," said Shabery who is here for the Seventh Conference of Ministers of Information of Non-Aligned Countries.
He said Anwar's promise to reduce oil prices should Pakatan Rakyat form the government was an "empty promise" to gain people's support and would probably force the country to submit to foreign powers for having to take up loans.
"Do we want once again put the country into the shackle of the International Monetary Fund which Anwar had done when he was Finance Minister?.
I hope the people are not hoodwinked by Anwar's personal agenda," he said.
Shabery also urged the people not to let themselves become a tool by Anwar who was pinned by personal problems.
tunku : i hope anwar will not chicken out this time.the debate which is scheduled 15th July must go on and we hope anwar will not mention about the sodomy accusation at all.we hope that shabery side too won't call off the debate.

That why the present government should let the flow of democractic ideas among the general population alive at all times.
If the Rakyat want to gather let them do so. Required the organizer to have it at more control environment such as in stadium, open field, auditorium and so on.
Also required the organizer to provide Public Liability Insurance for certain amount of coverage to safe guard the public property and the people who attending it. This also could introduce sense of professional responsibility among the organizer.
By having the gathering they all would be yelling, screaming of whatever they express their thought to convince their points.
When the gathering finished they all would be heading home will full satisfaction for releasing their thought or unhappiness of whatever they want to say.
After said of what they want to say there would be emptiness in their soul. This emptiness would then be filled with more logical and reasonable ideas that at last would be more constructive to the present government.
The present government should give these people avenue to FLUSH OUT their thought. Only then we would see a more balance society that in long run more beneficial to both the Rakyat and government of the day.
Listening and watching the Rakyat behaving and presenting their constructive ideas are also more beneficial to the country for a more excellent policy by the present government for the benefits of the Rakyat and government.
