'Some Say Transition Period Too Long' says Muhyiddin

TOKYO, July 10 (Bernama) -- Umno vice president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said some quarters were of the view that the power transition period in Umno planned for 2010 was too long.
"Some have expressed concern that if the duration is that long the situation will not become more convincing. This needs to be taken into account," he said.

tunku : not some tan sri but majority saying that it's too long.

He said there were party members who believed that it would be better for members of the party themselves decide on the question of leadership of the party.
"We will see. The election is still far. Why the haste to make the decision now? But never mind, the election starts in October; so at that time each Umno division surely will see whether they like the decision or they have their own views," he said.
Muhyiddin who is leading a six-day trade and investment mission to Japan is commenting on Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's announcement to hand over the posts of Umno president and Barisan Nasional chairman to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the middle of 2010.
Muhyiddin said he hoped any decision made the Umno Supreme Council would not stop others from making decisions they deemed best for them.
He said that if Umno was still practising the democratic system, it surely would not prevent party members from voicing out on what was best for them and the party.

tunku : we hope that others will satnd up but again "money politics" will be at its best again.

He said decisions made by the Supreme Council should be respected. "But no less important was the views of each Umno member representing the branches and divisions. They have wants... they have aspirations.. they also have hopes... expectations," he said.

tunku: nowadays, only the voice of the leaders(that are bought) are heard , the grassroots has no say.may be at branch level the decide something else, but when it comes to division, it changes.

Asked on whether he had decided on the post he would be contesting, Muhyiddin said: "We have to see members' reaction to the Supreme Council's decision first. My decision is not important."

tunku : go all out tan sri. we believe that if you dare to challenge pak lah or najib, victory is YOURS provided in a fair fight.go for it tan sri .you are the only hope that the grassroot have.

Sorry to say lah ..DSNR dah tak boleh pakai...mudah sangat digula-gulakan.

Ini lah susah nya ...dah terbiasa Served on a silver platter. Tak der semangat juang.

Saya sudah lama hilang keyakinan kepada DSNR.

Hello tunku,

The election is still far. Why the haste to make the decision now? Of course is because of the protesters and the public is pressuring him very deeply to step down.

And yes, the election starts in October; so at that time each Umno division surely will see whether they like the decision or they have their own views.

Sekarang dah manpak, semua nak jawatan tu.

As I know only Sultan could do that. Well nowadays even politician wanna do that. Check the constitution first. This kind of event is no more than a political gimmick to Pak Pandir the grassroots.

Well I dont think the grassroots would just swallow it. Gauging from the applaused yesterday way different than when Tun announced his resignation. Remember what Rafidah said and how everybody rushing to the stage to ask Tun to take it back his resignation. Well totally different. Still some people would not understand that. It is a shame to be a politician nowadays i guess.

It seems that everybody do not understand it anymore. It is not about Najib and Pak Lah anymore. The decision make actual it is not about or for Najib anymore. It should be made for the grassroots, UMNO, BN and Malaysia. Have all our leaders waking up by now. I doubt. Are we willing to pay a heavy price for this. I dont think so. Then what in the world is in our mind by letting this to happen. Or probably we all just watching the political circus just for sake of watching.

Regardless Rakyat is watching and giving the chance in 4 years time they would make their wise decision.

Salam Tunku,

1. Munkin Tunku ahli UMNO?

2. Munkin berhasrat untuk bertanding
sesuatu jawatan?

3. Macam mana jika dikenakan
syarat untuk bertanding?

4. Bagaimana jika syarat itu
tiada ternyata dalam buku kod
etika UMNO?

5. Bagaimana kalau tujuan untuk
bertanding adalah kerana hendak
menyuarakan pandangan majoriti
akar umbi di perengkat Cawangan
tetapi terus terkubur kerana
aspirasi adalah melawan arus
perdana?

Perkara 2-5 diatas adalah dilema
dalam UMNO.
Jika mahu naik kena berkorban.
Korbannya, wang ringgit dilabur
dan hilang jati diri.

Justeru itu saya cadangkan UMNO
perlu dibubar.
UMNO masih mengikut norma-norma
penjajah.
UMNO terlampau besar dan bila dah
besar ia jadi macam Dinosaur.
Beri kebebasan kepada rakyat
untuk memilih siapa patut jadi
Perdana Menteri.
Kita tidak mahu lagi jika menang
jawatan Presiden Parti otomatik
jadi Perdana Menteri.
Kita rakyat dah muak dengan parti
UMNO.
