Irrespective of how the world sees him, the man who has accused PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim of sodomy has the unyielding support of his family.The family of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan for the first time have publicly expressed grief for what they believe has happened to him - a victim of sodomy. "I'm upset for my son the victim. Like he (Saiful) mentioned in the police report, he was used and sodomised by his former employer Anwar," stated Saiful's father Azlan Mohd Lazim in a statement today.
Saiful's lawyer Zamri Idrus read the written statement on behalf Azlan, who was not present at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
The lawyer was accompanied by Saiful's uncle known only as "Uncle Pet".
"My son has shown great courage in revealing what has happened and is fully assisting the police in their investigation unlike his former boss who just gives excuses and delays the investigation," said Azlan in his statement.
Saiful has been a central character since he made the sodomy allegation last month. The matter came to a boiling point with the high-handed arrest of Anwar on July 16.
Anwar while in overnight detention refused to provide DNA samples to the police, fearing evidence tampering.
Azlan maintained that Saiful has shown moral fortitude and is ever willing to swear his innocence on the Quran in any mosque.
Saiful to stay hiddenWhen asked if Saiful was still in hiding, his lawyer Zamri Idrus answered in the affirmative and said he was in a safe place.
"It's not yet the time for him to come out. We will wait until the investigations are over," said Zamri who is representing Saiful in the civil suit filed by Anwar.
Zamri explained that the family's statement of support now was to show the family's continuing support for Saiful.
He added that the family requested for the police to quicken the pace of the investigation and asked those who have an interest in the case not to impede the process.
"What has happened... has happened but we have to go on with our lives. And we are confident Allah will come to our aid," said Saiful's uncle Pet
"He is my nephew and I trust him," said Pet.
tunku : saiful has challenged anwar recently to swear on the Quran at any mosque but anwar chicken out and as usual tonnes of excuses. ten years ago the victim's family are not involved or made any statements, look like saiful's family members are standing besides him.we hope police will speed up the investigation process as everyone wants to know the truth.

Anwar tengah menggelabah sekarang. Alasan tu tak payah cakap lah, benda biasa yang kita dapat dengar dari si badut sarkis ni. Selalu dah tengok drama yang pilu lagi menyayat hati hasil karangan Anwar ni. Episod demi episod dilalui, semakin lama semakin menarik. Harus 'dipuji' kerana ini adalah jenis pendekatan politik yang baru yang diamalkan Anwar. Drama!! Drama dan huru hara disana sini. Tapi ramai jugak yang percaya, dengar cakap dia dan menjadi pencacai setia dia. Bagus2. Tahniah kepada anda2 semua yang menyumbang kepada 'keamanan' negara kita.
I feel for the family, the pressure and the shame they must have been subjected to. I suppose Anwar has a point in challenging how a 61-year-old can force himself on a healthy 23 year-old. Although come to think of it, with the rising of Anwarism which peaked on March 12th, duress can take many forms, right? the pursuit for power and glory can make a man kowtow to alot of things that his pride and morality wouldn't let him. anyway, it's just speculation.
I just wonder why Anwar has not been charged when the authority already has his DNA taken 10 years ago (to match anything that of Anwar's found at Saiful's body), but RPK has been charged. Charge him. Biar dia "menggelabah".

Anwar memang pandai bersandiwara. Dalam ceramah-ceramah, beliau sering menggunakan 'perbandingan umur' sebagai modal untuk membuat rakyat terutama penyokong buta tuli beliau untuk mempercayai fakta-fakta murah beliau. Lepas ni apa pulak modal beliau?
Pak Lah dah banyak beralah dengan Anwar. Antaranya jaminan bahawa tidak ada campur tangan dari TS Gani Patail dan TS Musa Hasan dalam kes ini dan cadangan supaya ujian sampel DNA dilakukan oleh forensik dari luar negara. Tetapi beliau tetap berdegil..
Selepas 'lagu-lagu' Anwar tidak mendapat sokongan mantap dari rakyat dan pemimpin, sekarang ni Anwar cuba pula nak mendendangkan lagu perbezaan umur kepada rakyat dengan harapan rakyat melihat kes ini dari pandangan mata beliau.
Tapi menjadi parah akibat terlalu banyak sangat 'lagu' di mainkan. Bingit telinga. Terlalu banyak kes dan hal yang cuba Anwar timbulkan. Bukan kah lebih baik tumpukan tenaga dan fikiran kepada kes sodomi ini? Ini tidak terlalu banyak yang ingin dikejar Anwar dalam satu masa.
Mungkin beliau sudah mula gelabah kerana tarikh keramat 16 sept tu sudah makin hampir.
Nanti yang di kejar terlepas, yang dikendong berciciran.
In order to understand better to the case, we need to hear both side of the story, than we could verdict and make decisions.
if I could consider that Anwar is apparently a repeat offender which he was freed from an earlier sodomy charge but still that is a technical mere. Recorded during the previous last election results, he urged the support of nearly half of the voting malaysians. This is undeniable that he is a bigwig, and his complaint is virtually nobody.
By the way, has anyone consider that Anwar is a strong and able-bodied young man like saiful despite acting merciless against his sodomy case? I would believe it either. So I would not be fooled by just his appearance because I believe that he could be strong like a cow charging its partner.
How about his connections with the US? BAH. You can justify the scenery by yourself with the interference of US and JAPAN on our internal affairs issues.
i think this saiful guy was paid by umno to charge anwar on this and this issue of DNA shouldnt be brought up by ppl by saying anwar is affraid to give his DNA or he should just give his DNA. everyone knows how this government work, money and money everywhere. thus it is understood why anwar does'nt want to give his DNA and further more they HAVE his DNA already why ask for new ones???
Paklah commented that the DNA profile kept by the police is 'old'. Meaning even though it is 'old', it should still be there in the police keeping. And anybody who reads about DNA knows that DNA profile can never be too old. So to the police force, enough of it already. Move on with your investigation using the 'old' profile
