The police have given PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim until 2 pm tomorrow to present himself at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters or face action.
Federal CID chief Mohd Bakri Zinin said if Anwar does not show up, the police will take the necessary action. "Arrest is an option," he added.
He also warned that it is an offence under the Penal Code for anyone to prevent the police from discharging their duty.
Anwar was supposed to have gone to the police headquarters yesterday to have his statement recorded in relation to the sodomy allegation against him.
However, the opposition stalwart refused to go claiming that the police had acted unprofessionally by allegedly ‘intimidating and harassing’ his staff and family while attempting to serve an order under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code on Sunday.
Anwar was accused of sodomy by 23-year-old former aide Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan on June 28.
The politician claimed that the charge was fabricated by the government to prevent him from seizing power from a political buildup started by the March elections. Government leaders have since denied this.

Hello tunku,
Aiyo, why at the sudden time the authorities doing this actions? Are they trying to put pressure to the DSAI for this debate tonight?
Yup the authorities could delay the investigations and allow the debate to continue tonight. Otherwise more people will think negatively towards the authorities and the federal government.
