Sembrong Umno Will Back Abdullah, Najib

KLUANG, July 20 (Bernama) -- Sembrong Umno will nominate Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak to defend their president and deputy president's posts respectively in Umno's elections in December, said its head Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
He said the division's stand was in line with the power transition plan between Abdullah and Najib that would take place in 2010.
"As I have said before, we (leaders of Umno) support the power transition process although others cannot be prevented from contesting.
"So it is for us (leaders) to go down to the ground to explain the leadership transition process, which I myself have done in Sembrong Umno," he told reporters after officiating a Felda function in Felda Ulu Penggeli here, Sunday.
Earlier, Hishammudin, who is also Umno Youth chief and Education Minister, had opened Sembrong Umno branch meetings in Taman Seri Lambak here.

tunku : well, its in the blood.they just get the post without having to fight.all given in silver platter.so, don't expect much.the only position they contest would be MT or vice president, the rest no contest.

strange that last time when Dr M did it I didn't hear so much noise. Hishammuddin said it that others cannot be prevented from contesting - so really, if KuLi and Muhyiddin are really capable, get their quota filled and contest! why the need to zoom in on the PM, who in any case was following the party tradition?

hisham will always lick the man of the day no matter what.
not only him but by many, its all because of their personal gain and survival, not the survival of the party and its member.
they will know their fate come the next election.

Is Hishammuddin Hussein listening to the grass roots' views, or he goes explaining the power transition?

We know that they are targeting the PM especially after the announcement of his retirement.
Well, in their eyes everything single thing that Pak Lah did is wrong.
even if it's the right thing.

Hishamuddin is like the the weeds, follows where directions blowed. Now he is making reverse decisions. He can't stand on his decision. I don't think he had yet the credibility to become the deputy president for the UMNO party.

The problem is the leaders keep on talking and talking and talking instead of listening to the grassroots.

rubini... prbably in Tun M's tie there werent any blgos or any of this internet bashing stuff. Or during Tun M's time, i doubt us bloggers will have so much freedom n democracy to kutuk our leaders...

On the other hand, comparing Tun M's ways with Pak Lah is like comparing apple and banana.
