The police forensic team today visited a luxury condominium in Damansara to gather evidence in regards to a sodomy report lodged against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.
The forensic team spend more than five hours sweeping the unit - the scene where the alleged act had taken place, according to the complainant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
Saiful had lodged a report on Saturday stating that Anwar had allegedly sodomised him at Unit 1151 of Kondominium Desa Damansara in Kuala Lumpur on June 26.
Anwar has denied this claim, calling it a total fabrication. He also filed a defamation suit against Saiful, who was his aide, this morning.
The forensic team entered the condominium at about 12.15pm and left at about 5.15pm, accompanied by five police cars and 15 police personnels.
A team of police investigators were also at the condominium where they inspected the log books at the posh residence's guard house.
The police have also spoken to the security guards and have seen hours of CCTV footages.
Security guards refused to speak to the horde of journalists who have been camping outside the condominium, saying that they have been instructed by the employers to stay silent.
No journalists were allowed to enter the condominium.
According a witness, the corridor leading to the condominium unit on the fifth floor was barred with police tape and several policemen were seen guarding the entrance.
The luxury unit is said to be worth at least RM2.2 million and its rental rates range between RM7, 500 to RM15, 000.
The condo facilities include a fitness centre, sauna, swimming pool, squash and tennis court.
Cops interview sodomy accuser, deploy forensics unit
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have interviewed Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan who accused de facto opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sodomising him.
It is learnt a task force set up to investigate the allegation interviewed the 23-year-old former aide to Anwar on Monday, and immediately followed up on his information, including visiting and investigating the alleged crime scene, a condominium in Damansara.
A police forensic unit was seen at the condominium for almost five hours.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar confirmed police had interviewed Mohd Saiful, but declined to divulge details.
“We need to be fair to all parties concerned and we assure the public that we will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter,” he said.
Ismail also said police had yet to receive any report from Anwar, his family members or his agents with regards to the alleged threat on his life. “How can we investigate who, when, where and what the threat is all about if there is no police report lodged?” he said.
Saiful had on Saturday lodged a police report alleging Anwar had sodomised him at a condominium in Damansara last Thursday.
He was admitted to the hospital here for a medical examination and is under police protection.
On Sunday morning, Anwar fled to the Turkish Embassy here, seeking shelter after he had received death threats.

Just wonder who is the owner of
this luxury Rm2,200,000.00 condo, or if it is rented who is paying the rent of Rm7,500.00 per month.
I do not think the volunteer aide that was under government schoolarship or loan before could afford it.
This at least lead to somewhere. Well just wait and see i guess.
