BESUT: Former Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said all the development projects implemented during his tenure merely aimed to raise the standard of living of the people.
“The construction of the Islamic Civilisation Park (TTI) at Pulau Wan Man proved that we were building a new civilisation, while the Monsoon Cup was organised as a symbol to the world that Terengganu could also achieve international status,” he told Bernama from Insead, France, where he is doing a course at a leading business college.
He said the projects were in addition to his success in creating elite schools and building the first university in Terengganu.
Taman Ilmu or Knowledge Park, which is under construction, aimed to provide quality education to the people while the Heritage Bazaar was set up to assist local entrepreneurs, he said.
Idris said that in the long run, the people would realise how lucky they were to have various forms of development although they were seen as a waste by some quarters.
It was reported last week that the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) had been investigating the Monsoon Cup and the TTI projects since last month.
State ACA director Sharudin Sapian said preliminary investigation revealed there was no element of bribery involved in the projects.
tunku : it's always in the expense of the rakyat. we know that the projects will bring benefit to the people, no doubt but what is the main concern here is the contract price of the projects, whether it is acceptable or not. there are projects cost about rm80million but contract given for rm120million. one man getting most of the projects.this is what concern the public. it's the tax payer money.

don't say anything to idris jusoh, after all he is just obeying the boss order to help patrick and kamaludin.
When it come to big mega projects, there's a corruption. In the living modern world nowadays people can make money out most of everything, including tenders and negotiations. They care about their earning not from which source of the money came from.
rm40 million gone into who's pocket? I don't like pointing fingers to nobody without evidences, but hopefully ACA will investigate this matter. This is a must since those are taxpayer's money, our money.
