PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim questioned why he was the only one brought to court if he supposedly had 'consensual' unnatural sex with his former aide."If it is consensual, why was I the only one being charged? This is a political persecution," he told reporters after he was released on personal bond after being charged with sodomy at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions' Court this morning.
Anwar was charged with having committed sodomy with Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan under section 377B of the Penal Code on June 26 between 3.01pm and 4.30pm at Unit 11-5-1 Desa Damansara Condo in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
Section 377B refers to consensual sex, not assault.
He also continued his attacks on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for pursuing the sodomy charge.
"This is dirty politics of a man who is set to lose his power," he said.
Anwar also said that he would now proceed to concentrate on his Permatang Pauh by-election campaign.
Justice SM Komathy set the case for mention on Sept 10 where it will be decided when hearing will begin. However, the case would be transferred to the High Court.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had announced that he will step down in 2010 and he will hand over his position to Najib.by that he wil lose his power as prime minister.
what possibly good for Pak Lah to do that when we already know that pak lah gonna soon resign?

Kalau ikut hukum Islam (saya rasa majoriti pengunjung laman ini penganut agama Islam), dalam kes rogol, hanya perogol yang didakwa dan jika disabit bersalah, ia dihukum; yang dirogol tidak bersalah.
Dalam kes zina ("suka sama suka") kedua-dua akan didakwa dan jika sabit bersalah, kedua-duanya dihukum.
Tapi saya kurang arif dengan "hukum dunia".

Perhaps he is finally giving a hint that ‘he did it….his way’ with Saiful ….ugh!!! Consensus or by force doesn’t matter; the fact is he has been condemned for committing that criminal act….. 20 years may not be sufficient, maybe the law should be changed to life imprisonment; so what DSAI is a living ‘dead’ anyway. But for many of the Rakyat, eligible voters of Permatang Pauh or not, is to use the bugger before he is convicted to bring down PM.

just see the way he told reporters, suka sama suka , kenapa saya satu orang didakwa, he was smiling all the way. i thought if a person is accused he can smile at all on this matter, he will be angry.i am sure he did it.suka sama suka.
anwar is absolutely right. as a muslim, this sodomy thing is just like commiting zina. if it is consensual then both have to punished or freed. if it is rape then the rapist should be punished. remember, the analogy here cannot be that of bribery and corruption. I sense something is wrong in the whole thing here, and the people in general cannot accept this. they see no logic here. another point is, why is Pak Lah and a few of his cabinet members taking so much interest in this issue. They have suddenly become spekesmen for the police. This again smells negativity. i think the people cannot accept this. quite insulting to their intelligence. The people are beginning to suspect more of the motive to all this. what a shame to the country and Pak Lah's administration...

may be you can't see what we are seeing,vice versa.
about pak lah and his cabinet, they are only answering to the reporters questions as they are the government. the don't call the reporters for special press conference for anwar's case like what anwar is doing.
pak lah and his cabinet has all the right to answer back at anwar's allegations on them.
Saiful lodge a report that Anwar sodomise him and Anwar is now being charged.
If Anwar wants Saiful to be charged then he should lodge a report that Saiful had asked to be sodomised or Saiful had sodomised him.
Whether consensual or not does not matter.It is the act that matters.
So the question is 'Anwar did it or not?

Anwar tak perlu pertikai kenapa beliau sorang je yang kena dakwa walaupun liwat yang terjadi atas dasar suka sama suka. Ini kerana ada beberapa kes rogol, mangsa membuat laporan polis menyatakan dirogol oleh teman lelaki. Padahal , seks dilakukan atas dasar suka sama suka. Tapi mungkin bila ada pertengkaran antara mereka atau teman lelaki tidak mahu bertanggung jawab, maka mangsa akan mengatakan bahawa dia dirogol teman lelaki... Berbalik kepada kes liwat Anwar, walaupun kes ini adalah kes liwat tapi fakta kejadian seks itu hampir sama..
