KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who has accused Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of having sodomised him, should confine his accusation and testimony in a court of law and not announce them in any public place or to the media, the Syarie Lawyers Association of Malaysia said Sunday.Association secretary-general Musa Awang said he felt that Mohd Saiful Bukhari's gesture of swearing on the Quran implied his purported disrespect for and challenge of the integrity of the institution of the court.
Mohd Saiful Bukhari had sworn on the Quran at the Federal Territory Mosque last Friday, claiming that he was telling the truth when he accused Anwar of having sodomised him on June 26.
Anwar, 61, was charged on Aug 7 with having committed sodomy on Mohd Saiful Bukhari, 23, under Section 337B of the Penal Code on July 26 between 3.01 pm and 4.30 pm at Unit 11-5-1 of the Desa Damansara Condominium in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
He was released on a personal bond of RM20,000 without surety. The case will be mentioned on Sept 10.
tunku : there is nothing wrong with saiful swearing.he just swear that he was sodomized by his ex employer on 26th of July 2008. he did not give any further details as when asked by reporters, he said that he will give statement/evidence in the court.he did not defend himself etc like the 'media trial' by anwar.what anwar is doing is wrong,he should give his testimony or statement in the court, not to the media.

When the boy swears the PAS and Sharie lawyers busy posting negative comments. Before that they never comment anything as they all knew Saiful intention to swear.
Up to him to express his innocence in whatever he feels and deem fit as he see it that PAS and the rest of PR followers seems to beleive that the Govt is behind all these.
And Anwar is still at large as though nothing has happen.
And he is not alone he have families and I am sure his family has consulted some Ulama and JAWI officials. Hes a smart young lad and he knows what hes doing.As a muslim i salute him for his bravery and guts for doing it.As for the date before nomination to hell with nomination this is not politic this is honour to be withold man.Its a perfect date and time on a calm serene Friday witness by his beloved dad and mosque officials. So you guys out there stop bickering and please give moral support to this lad as HE IS THE VICTIM.Respect his family as they are also under pressure at the moment.What if this happen to yr kid? If mine I will Chop of Anwar.......So considers Saiful family are very good as they have not attacked Anwar.
he only took an oath and not more than that.and i dont think that was an act or mean to interfere with the upcoming trial because only after the trial we will know who tells the truth and who is gulity beyond reasonable doubt.
Agree tunku. There is nothing wrong with him giving his oath. He did not gave specific details either, saying that he will testify his statements in the court trial. Unlike ANWAR, he should give his testimony to the court, not to the media.

Anwar knows that he needs to get the public's attention and support and by so, he needs to create a lot of noise.
Let's see how long can this noises save him.
