From 30 MPs to 13 MPs.....what a joke.

Jeffrey Claims 13 Sabah MPs To Join Pakatan Rakyat If Anwar Wins By-Election

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan has claimed that 13 Sabah members of parliament will cross over to the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) if PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wins the Permatang Pauh by-election next Tuesday.
He also claimed that the 13 MPs had met with him and expressed their support for Anwar.
"We speak the truth. I am talking about the 13 MPs who will join Pakatan Rakyat after Anwar wins this (Permatang Pauh) by-election ... they are just waiting (to cross over)," he told reporters after delivering a talk in Jalan Berapit here last night.
Jeffrey said two of the MPs were from the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and the rest from Umno.
The PR needs at least 30 more MPs to be able to form the federal government. Sabah has 24 Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs.
Anwar is involved in a three-corner fight for the Permatang Pauh seat, vacated on July 31 by his wife and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to enable Anwar become an MP. The BN has fielded Seberang Jaya state assemblyman Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah. The third candidate is Hanafi Mamat of Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim).

Najib Dismisses Claim 13 BN MPs Defecting To PKR
BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dismissed claims by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan that 13 Barisan Nasional (BN) members of parliament (MPs) will be crossing over to the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
"I want to say, there is no truth to the claim," he said when meeting members of the Chinese community in Kampung Sungai Lembu here Tuesday night.
On Monday, Jeffrey, when giving a ceramah (political talk) in Jalan Berapit here, said 13 BN MPs from Sabah would cross over to the PKR if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wins the Permatang Pauh by-election on Aug 26.
Najib, who is also BN deputy chairman, also refuted claims some BN MPs in Sarawak would follow suit.
"There are no "frogs" in Sabah and neither in Sarawak," he said.
As such, he advised the people not to believe claims that some BN MPs would be leaving the coalition.
Meanwhile, Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyidin Yassin said Jeffrey was engaging in pyschological warfare to fish for votes in Permatang Pauh.
"If it is true, do not just toss numbers but reveal their names," he told reporters after campaigning for the BN in Taman Pauh here.

tunku : they said they have enough mp to form new government but till today ZERO. now they said that they have 13 mps ready to jump ship,ONLY 13 ? what government are you going to form, the local government(majlis perbandaran)?if they manage to get 30 mps, bn can get just 2-3 mps to jump on their side. one of them for sure will be Ibrahim Ali.do we really need to rely on leap frogs. common morons,be gentlemen and wait for 13th general election.

I think you are being a little too negative.

Correct me if I am wrong but Sabah has 24 BN MPs. If 13 crosses over, that means the Sabah state government falls to PKR.

That itself is significant.

It is likely there are other MPs - Sabahans and non Sabahans - waiting to see how the cards stack up. If a tipping point is reached, I think it is forseeable more than 30 cross-overs may eventuate.

Its a probability.

You obviously do not read too well, do you? Jeffery said 13 MPs from Sabah alone. He did not say Sabah and Sarawak or the whole of Malaysia. (I am not saying that what Jeffery claimed will come to pass)

13 MP's is not good enough, even though 30 MP's are crossing over; Even though the PR's manage to form a new government, it would be the worst government form in Malaysia's history ever, with just the slightest majority over the BN. Can you imagine that? I don't think the Opposition nake the things go better for the country, but its going to make things go much more worst then before.

Those jump overs are not confirm yet, so don't make fuss of it.

Another dirty tactics from the PKR to fear the BN.

I rather wait and see instead of making comments. Just like the PRU12, BN did not bother about many claims from the opposition and those on the fence, see what has happened? Btw, Sabah is only one of the states in Malaysia, not the only one.
