Surprises from PKR camp

PETALING JAYA: Parti Keadilan Rakyat sprang a few surprises in its candidate line-up when it named lawyer Wee Choo Keong and Loh Gwo Burne, the man who recorded the VK Lingam video tape, as their parliamentary candidates.
Malaysian Democratic Party secretary-general Wee had four days ago demanded that DAP make way for the MDP to contest in the Bukit Bintang parliamentary seat. He now will contest in Wangsa Maju under the PKR ticket instead.
Loh will face MCA’s Datuk Lee Hwa Beng in the Kelana Jaya seat.
Unsurprisingly, PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s daughter Nurul Izzah was named for the Lembah Pantai seat while his wife PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail will defend her Permatang Pauh seat.
PKR vice-president Sivarasa Rasiah, who lost in the Petaling Jaya Selatan seat in the 2004 general election to Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, will now move to Subang.
Greenhorn vice youth chief Khairul Annuar Ahmad Zainuddin will be pitted against Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for the Pekan seat.
“There is a big increase in the number of candidates not just for parliamentary seats but also state seats and we hope to win 25 to 30 parliamentary seats,” said its deputy president Syed Husin Ali who announced the list since Anwar was in Sabah and Azizah in Penang.
PKR increased the number of seats it is contesting in the peninsula from 48 in 2004 to 66 this year while its state seats grew from 104 in 2004 to 126 in 2008, he said.
PKR will contest 17 parliamentary seats in Sarawak and about 20 in Sabah. It will also contest in 40 state seats in Sabah.
“With the high number of candidates being fielded, it is accepted that PKR is taking the lead role (in the opposition),” said Syed Husin, 72, who will not be contesting.
Asked whether Nurul Izzah, if she wins, would make way for Anwar who is barred from contesting in the elections, Syed Husin said it was not necessary – but someone would definitely make way. The decision, he said, would depend on which seats they won.
Teacher Badrul Hisham Shaharin will take on Khairy Jamaluddin in Rembau.
“It will be straight fights in all the seats,” he said.
The state list will be announced in each state today

Come come my dear Tunku! How dare you say Anwar play dirty in this case when it is in fact political astuteness. Talk about being dirty in politics, look no further than your Pak Lah, Najib, Mahathir, Khairy, all of them in UMNO... Everyone will be able to tell you they do worse and certainly much more dirtier things than Anwar.Don't be a sour grape Tunku. Anyway have a nice day.

Prior to Aug 1998, Anwar was seen as clean by so many BN people. But since then, he has been seen as "dirty" in the eyes of people like Tunku just because (i) he has been against Umno; (ii) he has become the bridge between Pas and DAP; (iii) he creates a political party just like what Dato Onn Jaafar inspired many, many years ago which made this grandfather of Hishamuddin being sacked from Umno; (iv) he reveals so many dirty things under Dr M and Pak Lah; (v) when he talks he has more substance than Pak Lah, Najib, Khairi etc, (vi) he is the Barisan Rakyat de facto leader despite not being able to contest just because the Parliament was dissolved much earlier to ensure that he cannot be a candidate.

On the other hand, we see (i) RTM being used by BN for this GE in an unthinkable manner although RTM is indeed owned by rakyat; (ii) NST, Star, BH and Utusan being using by BN - and we know who Kali is, an ex-business partner of KJ; (iii) coverage on Barisan Rakyat in those mainstream are only for the purpose of belittling BR and its candidates.

Please, after the Parliament is dissolved, there is no government neither there is opposition. Rakyat are the one who will decide who will be one after Mar 8, not Pak Lah not Anwar.

Agaknya siapa yang "dirty" ...

Tak Dak Nama 3
