Abdul Hadi Awang Prepared To Challenge Pak Lah In Kepala Batas

KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is prepared to face Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in a straight fight in the Kepala Batas Parliamentary constituency in the 12th general election.
Abdul Hadi said he would contest in the constituency if that was what the party wanted.
"If the party asks me to contest (in Kepala Batas), I'm prepared (to do so). I abide by the party's decision. (But) whether I contest or otherwise is not important. What is important is that we work to bring about changes," he said.
He said this at a press conference at the Terengganu Pas Liaison office here, when commenting on the dissolution of Parliament by the Prime Minister in Putrajaya today.
Abdul Hadi, who is the State Assemblyman for Rhu Rendang, however said the final decision on the matter rested with the Penang Pas Liaison Body.
"What is certain is that Pas will contest in a straight fight (against the Barisan Nasional candidate) in Kepala Batas," he said.
He said he was also willing to contest in any other constituency if nominated.
In the 2004 general election, Abdul Hadi stood in the Marang Parliamentary constituency but lost with a 163-vote majority to Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar, who is the Deputy Minister of Human Resources.

tunku : and this soap opera will end by hadi saying " the party wants me to contest in terengganu, i abide by their decision". if you are really "jantan" no one from the party can stop you challenging pak lah in kepala batas as you are the party president.always talk nonsense.

Even if Hadi should challenge Pak Lah in Kepala Batas, you honestly believe it will be a fair fight? Come on tunku! Pak Lah will really tremble in his sarong and he will get Rashid to transfer 10,000 UMNO supporters to Kepala Batas and at the same time transfer 10,000 PAS supporters out. That is what BN always mean by fair fight in level playing field. Malu tersangat!

mr tak dak nama,
any evidence to support your claim?

Tunku,

Go get the evidence you want from Rashid. He has plenty of it, only for the big man and of course his even bigger son-in-law. Why do you think Pak Lah extend his tenure even after he passed 65? I'm sure he'll be able to give you more than what require
