KJ Among Nominees For Rembau Seat

SEREMBAN, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- Talk that Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin will contest a parliamentary seat in Negeri Sembilan in the upcoming election might hold true after all as his name was among those sent for security screening.
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said Khairy was among five candidates endorsed by the Rembau Umno division recently.
"Khairy was endorsed not so much as the Rembau Youth head but because of his role as the Umno Youth deputy leader," he told reporters after chairing the weekly State Executive Council (Exco) meeting here today.
The incumbent, Datuk Firdaus Muhammad Rom Harun, was also in the list, he said.
Mohammad said that although Khairy had been nominated by the division, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi would have the final say.
With the exception of Seremban, six other divisions, namely Kuala Pilah, Tampin, Jelebu, Rasah, Teluk Kemang and Jempol have also submitted their lists.
All potential candidates have to be screening by the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) and police.
The general election is expected at any time now.

tunku : negeri sembilan mb said that pm would have the final say, in other word father in-law would have the final say, how nice.during tun dr mahathir's time he does not allow any of his children to contest, may it be in umno election or general election

To all UMNO members, BEWARE of the arising of KJ. Will you want to place 'Maruah Melayu' in hands of a family?
