Penang Umno To Go All Out To Bring Development To Penang

KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 (Bernama)-- Penang Umno will strengthen and streamline further the state's Bumiputera Participation Steering Committee to enhance development in Penang.
Penang Umno liaision committee deputy chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Rashid Abdullah said they would also rope in the Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda) and other bumiputera organisations in the effort.
He told this to reporters after some 650 Umno leaders from Penang held a closed-door meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also Penang Umno president and Penang Umno chief, at the Putra World Trade Centre here Saturday.
It was the first of a series of meetings Abdullah plans to have with leaders of Umno divisions and branches from throughout the country.
Also present at today's meeting, were Information Miniser Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor and Umno information chief, Tan Sri Muhammad Muhd Taib.
Touching on the meeting, Abdul Rashid it was done in an open and frank manner with Abdullah responding positively to the feedback given following the poor performance by Umno and the Barisan Nasional in the March 8 election.
All the leaders also voiced their undivided support for the leadership of Abdullah and Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president), he said.


tunku : i thought few weeks earlier they asked the federal government to stop all the federal projects in penang . what happened? next time think before making any official statements.if i'm not wrong that statement was made by dato azhar ibrahim.

That is the problem with our politicians. Most of the time they do not think before saying. Or if they said something it is just insulting to our inteligent. Before, they said they wanted all the mega projects in Penang to be scrapped by the federal government because the peoples do not want it as they had voted for Pakatan Rakyat. Actually they are more concerned about their own interest rather than rakyat interest. Wake up all UMNO leaders in Penang. Start to accept reality. Start to work for the rakyat. Start to work on how to keep and stay relevent with the voters. Another 4 to 5 years we would be facing them again. Since March 8th i do not see anything real positive for change other than a denial syndrome one after another among them.

At the end of the day , these two blokes will be the richest men in Penang!! Semuanya ada udang sebalik tomyam!! If they were fighting for the malays,what were they doing durin Gerakan regime,when the malays were seen being sidelined in Penang? Sudah terantok baru mengadah!!
