Sultan has the right, says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan Azlan Shah’s decision to instruct Perak Mentri Besar to immediately retract a 24-hour transfer order issued on the state Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Jamry Sury is in line with the provisions under the Federal and state constitutions. Therefore, no one should question the Sultan’s decision, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.“The decision made by Perak Sultan is in line with the provisions under the constitution. It cannot be questioned,” he told reporters Tuesday after the Defence Ministry’s workers day celebration here.Najib was commenting on Bukit Gelugor Member of Parliament Karpal Singh’s statement that the Sultan of Perak has no jurisdiction over the transfer of Jamry from the department.Najib said Karpal’s statement was deemed as questioning the provisions under the constitutions and could invite all sorts of reactions including anger among those who defended the powers of the Sultan under the constitution. He said the Federal Constitution stipulated that the Sultan had the absolute power over religious matters.“Powers of Sultan and that of the Federal Government and state governments are already stated in the Federal Constitution and State Constitution. Thus, no one should question decisions that are made as long as they are in line with the provisions under the constitutions.”Last week, Sultan Azlan Shah made the decision because Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar made the transfer order without prior consent from the Sultan as the head of Islam and the Raja Muda of Perak as the state Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council president.

tunku : they only rules the state, if the rules the country , maybe one day we will not have sultan anymore. when raja perlis and sultan of terengganu did not listen to pm's advice for the appointment of menteri besar, why karpal did not make any comments? is it because it did not concern dap?

Sultan has the right.
I am a big follow up on Tunku 's blog as its rather mild to me and the comments made by readers also not so harsh, blunt and vulgar as on Malaysia today.I was cringing at the words used by the DAP supporters such as Najis, pigs, animals, shits and so on as i am sure they would not want thier children to read what they have posted on the blogs.Whenever ministers made statements such as the recent postings on HRH Sultan of Perak interference of the JAIP Director Dato Jamry Sury case, and Dato Zahid made some comments, the Malaysia today blogs went beserk with all sorts of foul languages. My god! I was shock and felt very humiliated as I am sure they are all well educated and certainly smart but calling the ministers names? They want to let out thier anger/frustrations ita ok by me but using abusive languages? Critism for the betterment should be allowed but calling names is certainly uncalled for. Wonder what kind of society we are living with?I don't blame TPM for dragging the blog owner to court as his statements attracts all sorts negative responds not to mention the foul languages.

Perak kini jadi tapak ujian selanjutnya.
