KOTA KINABALU, May 12 (Bernama) -- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman wants the people to stop listening or spreading rumours about Sabah members of Parliament (MPs) who might switch party.
Instead, Musa said the people, especially the MPs and state assemblymen, to focus on giving their best to serve the people as promised during the March 8 general election.
"I always said that we do not have any plan to switch party. We are still loyal to the Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership. What is important now is to work together to further develop the state and deliver what we have promised to the people.
"Now is the time to work. Do not speak about party hopping. No such thing," he told reporters after chairing a Cabinet meeting, here Monday.
Musa was asked on the rumour that 16 Sabah MPs were purportedly thinking of defecting.
About the Kalabakan MP, Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh's speech in Parliament, Musa said what was voiced out represented the voice of the majority of Sabah people.
However, he said, the issues had been forwarded to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and was being given serious attention.
"Prior to this, the Sabah BN component party leaders including Umno have asked for the Sabah Federal Development Department (JPPS) to be abolished. For your information, it is being done right now.
"The Chief Secretary has also called and talked to the Sabah State Secretary as well as the Federal and state government officers on the abolishment of JPPS and return to the old system called Sabah Development Office.
"That means the demand has been fulfilled by the Federal Government. We will return to the old system used in the era of the United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) and the Berjaya government," he said.
According to Musa, what was important now was that the Federal government leadership had listened and tried to accommodate Sabah's needs.
tunku : what ghapur said in parliament actually can be discussed privately but nowadays blackmailing is the way of life. anyway, i agree that sabah shoul be given another ministerial post and that should be rural development ministerial post. pak lah should ask mat taib to resign and give the post to a sabahan.at least the minister will understand more about sabah and sarawak rural areas better and the needs of development there. for the 20% oil royalty it's too much to ask for.after all sabah and sarawak are given the largest share in the budget's allocation. don't just listen to a moron(anwar) who promises moon and stars. for me if there is bn's mp wants to switch camp, let them switch, the sooner the better than keeping them together with you.if 30 mp's wants to crossover ,it would be better as the Agong will definately dissolute the parliament and we'll have a fresh election and i believe the opposition will never want this to happen as they know they might not achieve what they had achieve on march 8,2008.

Tunku,
I couldn't agree with you more, the Sabahan taking advantange of the present situation by asking the moon and the stars and DSAI(Anwar) statements also adds salt to the wound making it worst. We really hope the CM could calm his ministers and carry on with serving the people by not asking too much.Lets focus on the present situation as at the moment we are still in a limbo with the food crisis and so on.CM of Sabah we salute you for your honest and straight forward statement " Concentrate on work" rather than concentrating on crossovers and what not.Whatever side they are on the objective is to serve your people right! The election is over now you've been chosen by the people so no more playing politics unless you want another election? And this time maybe you will not be chosen again who knows! Anything is possible.
