Hishammuddin condemns Mukhriz for conditional membership

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein condemned Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir for setting conditions in asking Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down as party president.
"Mukhriz pressuring the president to step down is nothing new. But what I cannot accept is that he set conditions for his membership. He said he would leave the party if the president did not resign by July," Hishammuddin told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
He said he was not empowered to impose disciplinary action on Mukhriz but would raise the matter to the management committee headed by Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
On Tuesday, Mukhriz said he hoped "action will be taken before the party’s branch level meetings in July, and if the Prime Minister still does not step down by then, I reserve the right to take a different stand.
“If there are no positive developments within the party in the shortest period of time, my fear is that if the leadership crisis is to drag on, we will lose other states in the next general election. So there is no compromise. The Prime Minister should just resign,” said Mukhriz.

tunku : don't just raise but recommend to the management committee to sack him. after all he's going to challenge your buddy kj in december.so better cut him off before that. is there any democracy in Umno now? can't the member speak out ? then i guess many had did the right thing by quitting the party and i believe if things continue the way it is, more will follow.

Re: Response to senior UMNO members comments:
It’s sad to hear such comments from a woman I had once most respect for her excellence in MITI. Now it’s shameful to notice such words from that UMNO representative from my state where Birch, the first British Resident was killed.. Has she lost her acumen to see Tun’s move as being most loyal to UMNO. Wake up Datuk, see the brighter side of Tun’s move; have you forgotten the gist of your 14+ page letter to PM which also affected your drastic fall in the majority you secured? The people you are protecting will knock you out the moment they have fully “used” you; see what they are doing with the kind of fabrications to serve their purpose re “ Letter” to PM of Israel.

Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam and Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali should know there are many ways to skin a cat; this is Tun’s way of strengthening UMNO by leaving UMNO temporary. This is not talking about turbans and songkok, Tun is referring to the strengthening of the soul in the body called UMNO which have been perpetuated with treachery and Tun is telling all UMNO members to participate actively in this cleansing exorcism.

Dr Puad Zarkashiid was correct- Tun is sending a strong signal to Abdullah to step down and to take the power transition seriously.

Musa Hitam, give him “money, woman & wine” he do anything; that’s why he’s an adviser to PM. Sad but what to do, he’s just a Haprak.

Mohamed son of Mohamed represents the ideal Haprak Melayu; he is an acclaimed Prophet of Doom and he sleeps soundly with the Prince of Darkness. Let’s see how long the House of UMNO will last by his type of call to remain intact.

Finally, shameful and disgusting are words fit for this son of a former PM. He wielded the kris and had to make a public apology; that’s what happens when one doesn’t take up silat when playing with the kris. He good at talking big and often than not, had to walk with the tail between his legs. He’s without principles and just a good mouth piece of the Prince of Darkness - how can grassroots support him for higher positions in UMNO? He can’t stand up to his father’s mettle. Let’s dare this “good for nothing” fellow to take action against Mukriz.

Tunku,

Terima kasih.

This is so typical of Hishamuddin, so quick to condemn at "soft" targets. Where was he when Karpal condemned the Sultans and Islam ?. When the non-Malays condemned his keris waving, he put his tail between his legs and whimpered. When Mukhriz simply said Dolah Badawi had nothing new to say, he jumped all over the poor bugger. When Lee Kuan Yew belittled UMNO, he was totally mute. Mukhriz shouldn't resign from UMNO, but should contest for the Youth Head, and start the cleansing from inside, beginning with Hishamuddin.

It sound like the Umno Youth Chief never experienced a democractic process in his life. So far Hisham is no more that a puppet for a UMNO leadership. He would Yes everything that coming out of leadership. I could not recall anything that he stand for for UMNO Youth other than puppeting everything from the mouth of UMNO leadership. He is using UMNO youth movement. At least Mukhriz is voicing out his stand about the current leadership. At least he is really know what it means for a "perjuangan". It is unpopular call. Future leader must be able to stand for what he believes for, eventhough it is gonna be unpopular. On the other side, are we gonna have a future leader like Hisham as our future Vice President in UMNO. I doubt. Hisham is no more that a puppet. He could not act on his own.
