New Umno Song At Party's 62nd Anniversary Celebration

KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 (Bernama) -- Umno's new song, entitled "Umno Dihatiku" (Umno in my heart) was serenaded for the first time to its members at the party's 62nd anniversary celebration at the Putra World Trade Centre today.
The song was composed by Kassim Masdor and the lyrics by Chuari Selamat.
Today's ceremony started with the recital of the holy verses, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the hoisting of the Umno flag by party president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
This was then followed by a speech by the president, who then awarded the "Malay of Distinction" award to Permodalan Nasional Berhad Chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid.
Abdullah and Najib then cut the "pulut kuning" and then joined party members for the zohor (afternoon) prayer and "tahlil".

tunku : by changing song will make no difference to umno, change the leadership which is rotten. i don't know how the new song sound like , the old one,i know it by heart ,even my 6 years old son knows how to sing it.

By changing the song to me it is unnecessary moved by the UMNO. The song already installed patriotism among UMNO members. This is no more than like a mouse is fixing the pumpkin.

Somewhere I read the words "the singer, not the song". This seems apt, because the chorus (not the one in the song, but outside) is that Dolah should leave.
How many UMNO members attended the party ? The tv showed rows of empty seats in the hall. Were there non-members coopted into making the numbers ? The point here is, what real specific actions are being taken, involving real grassroot members, to revive the party from its real death throes ? I'm afraid with all these meaningless shows the fervour for change is losing its momentum, and fast. This is all becoming " hot, hot, chicken shit " !

I like to sing songs especially those which make me happy; reminisces of the lovely past and sometimes to dream away my sorrows and frustrations in my painful heart. Maybe the new song will help them sing away the realities and the problems on the ground while letting the young ambitious SIL and his nincompoop advisers continue ruining the country.
