UiTM Selective Policy Coincide With The United Nation Convention

As if it is not enough that all of the Chinese political party and Chinese NGO’s are pressuring the government to abolish the rights of the bumiputera’s, now Suara Haram (SUARAM) who represents the voice of Zionism also are singing the same song. SUARAM Director Kua Kia Soong recently made a statement that UiTM policy for bumi’s is against the United Nation Convention.

This statement might be true if all other minority races in Malaysia are being discriminated and denied their rights to get a proper education. However, the advancement and achievement of non-bumi’s today proves that there is no discrimination in our education system.

The UN Declaration acknowledges the following:

1.      To safeguard future generation from the perils of war.

2.      To emphasize the spirit of human rights, human value, equality among men and women and among all nations.

3.      To ensure a just environment and the rule of law will prevails.

4.      To promote social development and better loving standartds that is accessible to all.

5.       Promoting toleration and the ability to coexist peacefully with one another

6.      To safeguard international peace and security.

7.      To ensure that the no firearms will be used for purposes other than the public interest.

8.      To use the international mechanism to promote economic and social advancement for all.
It is clear that UiTM did not breach any of the UN declaration and its existence is in line with number 2, 4, 5 and 8. Malaysia would be in breach of the declaration if UiTM did not exist at all.

It is because, that the nation’s economy is currently being controlled by the Chinese. It shows an uneven distribution is experienced in the Malaysian economic sphere.
The bumis and the government never did blame the Chinese as looters who take advantage of other races. In fact, the government sees that it is the weakness of the bumis.

To remedy this injustice, the government sees that the Bumi’s needs to be help to narrow the economic gap.
Help is given to the Bumi’s through education, UiTM is one of the platforms to help Bumiputra’s that excel in their study but did not have the financial capability to study in other institution.
Many of them will never be able to be at par with Chinese students as most of the Chinese are very rich and they can afford education necessities such private tutoring and better books. Without any help from the government, the Bumi’s will be left behind and it will destroy their hope of having a better future.
This will ensure that the Chinese will be richer and other races will be poorer. This will enhance the economic gap that will lead to conflict and ethnic crisis, similar to what had happened in the racial riot of 13th May 1969 and also the Indonesian Reformation.

SUARAM should not oppose UiTM as it gave the Malays a fighting chance in the Malaysian fast paced economy environment. As an organization that promotes equality and fairness, SUARAM should look at the reality of the situation rather than playing with perception made by the opposition.
More than that SUARAM as an NGO has been proven untrustworthy in the Scorpene issue and they are not eligible to talk about rights and liberties. How can an organization that accepts funds from another organization that has been proven commits genocide in many countries talk about human rights and justice?

Thus, if anyone wants to talk about justice in Malaysia, they must be able to think of a policy that can narrow the economic gap of the Chinese and other races in Malaysia especially the Malays. Only when this gap can be filled, then we can talk about the abolishment of UiTM or any other Bumiputera rights.

Yes,Tunku is right.SUARAM isn't a voice for the rakyat.SUARA haram fittingly describes what SUARAM is.

UiTM was my alma mater. Those early years of the 70s ,soon after the racial riot of 13th May,bumiputera from all over Malaysia came to seek higher education at ITM.ITM,as UiTM called than, was a blessing for the poor rural students like me.Many had made good in life after graduating.

Without ITM there could be no justice for the rural poor.It must be protected from SUARAM.

tq tunku for your strong condemnation of the zionist outfit SUARAM.
