RCI Said To Be Ridiculed By Parties Who Cannot Accept Its Finding

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- People who cannot accept the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) finding that political aide Teoh Beng Hock committed suicide are said to be ridiculing the concept of the commission.
A member of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Consultation and Prevention of Corruption Panel, Syed Akhbar Ali, said the non-acceptance could also be construed as disrespect for the laws of the country.
"I do not understand why they cannot accept the finding when the commission was formed on public demand and followed the due process of the law.
"If they accept when they like it and reject when it does not favour them then they are not respecting the commission," he told Bernama Sunday.
He was asked to comment on the statement by Bar Council President Lim Chee Wee that the body did not concur with the RCI's decision that Teoh committed suicide because it was unsupported by facts and evidence.
He said it was up to the Bar Council to appeal or challenge the finding in court but if the outcome was the same, it should be accepted with an open mind.
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) law lecturer Assoc Prof Datuk Abd Halim Sidek said an investigation should be carried out on the allegation by the Bar Council that Teoh died due to the negligence of MACC officers named in the RCI report.
"If Teoh was driven to suicide as a result of the MACC officers' action then they must be brought to court," he said.
"I think the Bar Council president's statement was premature and he jumped the gun. They must be patient and wait for the investigation," he added.

tunku : it is the royal comission, hence the non acceptance of the bar council and the oppositions is equal to disrespect to the King.action should be taken against them asap. for these jokers, whatever judgement or finding which is not favouring them or against them is not accepted by them. government should not waste their precious time to please these jokers.the main issue is the case macc investigating, the corruption of the dap leaders in selangor and that is why teo beng hock committed suicide.

I am not sure but now having doubts on the President of Bar Council's legal credibility. Perhaps he is not a litigation lawyer who would understand the provisions of the Malaysian Penal Code. The President of BC had alleged the three MACC officers had committed a crime under Section 304 and 304A of Penal Code, that is causing culpable homicide. First, he needs to read understand and accept the fact that the late TBH had committed suicide, meaning that no other person had caused his death, directly or indirectly. The three MACC officers may have committed wrongdoings but due to their excessive and blatant way of investigation, nothing more. In fact TBH was not bodily harmed by MACC. I hate to say but would believe that TBH had a very thin mental capability, that he ended his life at a very young age.

Even if you want to say that he committed suicide because of he was mentally tortured I can say that he was more disturbed with the fear that he had to face his DAP bosses, that would possibly cause him worse damage.

Even in UK the whistleblower on the News Of The World, Sean Hoare, was found dead just before the Parliamentary Hearings opened. They say he is was a drug user and may have died due to an overdose. Some say it is true while others have their doubts. But the fact reamins that if Cleopatra's did not have nose she had the history of the Roman Empire would have been different.

In this internet age trust can only be built on timely disclosure of information based on accountability and transparency.

Unlike the people of my father's generation the young people of today can think independently and what they perceive the situation to be is as important or even more important than you think. This is now way any dispect for DYMM SPB Yang diPertuan Agung.

Daulat Tuanku.

Is it not odd that the MACC used such aggressive questioning methods for a case that involved only RM2,300.00? Makes the public wonder how they will address cases that have four or five zeros added to that figure.

How come it's always not suicide nor murdered at every inquest before an RCI?

And the end result is always so predictable.

Will it be the same again in the Sarbini case? Since for a Moslem, suicide may be not suitable option, guess what it will be then?

Sudden death and got blown by the wind out the window?
