Assembly May Be Held In Shah Alam Stadium, Says Abdul Khalid

SHAH ALAM, July 5 (Bernama) -- Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today that the state government will allow the illegal assembly planned for Saturday to be held in Shah Alam Stadium.
However, he said, the organisers of the assembly should ensure that it was held in peace.
"There must be discipline, order and control. In case of any damage, they (the organisers) must bear the costs," he told reporters after opening a seminar on affordable housing here.
He was responding on the question whether the Selangor state government will allow the rally to be held in the Shah Alam Stadium.
Abdul Khalid said that he was allowing the stadium to be used in compliance with the view of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin that street demonstrations would do more harm than good.

tunku : it's your people khalid, they should listen to you.tell them to make sure the assembly is held in peace.if they can't then let the police and army handle them. the most important thing is you allow them to use shah alam stadium.

Do not be in a hurry to bring in the PDRM, and the Military which is for use in external defence. Many Third World countries have shown us three decade3s ago that it is easy to bring out the police and the military but to get them back into the barracks is another matter.

As long as it is outside KL, I have no objection.

Not that I agree to the 'demands' with but the motto 'Rakyat Didahulukan' then Rakyat must be (at least) heard. Implementing and when is another matter.

Precedent set when Ambiga was allowed to see YDA but PERKASA was refused is worrying !!!

Will new issue will required audience with YDA ? Should PM (or his Representative) be present when 'NGOs' audience with YDA ?

Please understand the law before making any accusation. PDRM will not issue any permit to Bersih as it an illegal organisation but an individual like Ambiga has to apply. But before any permit is issued a venue must be identified. PDRM is very professional in dealing with the situation, listen or read to DIGP press statement yesterday. I am proud at the way PDRM is handling the situation.
