Six reasons why voters should return BN to power

The Barisan Nasional manifesto presents a strong case why voters should return the coalition to power for the next five years.
Launched by Prime Minister and Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Saturday, it cites six main reasons for Malaysians to do so, including the need for Malaysia to have a strong government.
Besides this, the manifesto touted five other attributes of Barisan as an entity with a proven track record, experienced, a movement in moderation, a time-tested power-sharing coalition, and committed to Malaysians' ideals.
"We need a strong government capable of delivering the National Transformation Agenda towards achieving a fully developed and high-income nation," said the manifesto titled 'People First'.
"We have to safeguard what we have already achieved. We cannot put at risk what we have, we cannot gamble away our future," it said.
On Barisan's track record, the manifesto pointed out that the coalition has delivered 55 years of undeniable success, a party with a record of solid achievement and fulfilled promises.
"We will continue to build on this track record. Now is not the time for risks. Do not experiment with our future," it said, noting that the Barisan-led government has brought progress to all segments of the Malaysian society.
Noting that the Barisan espouses the politics of unity, the manifesto said the coalition is experienced in managing a multi-racial, multi-religious and multi-cultural society.
"We have proven our ability in facing challenges and overcoming adversity. Time and again we have come through crises stronger and wiser," it said.
The manifesto explained that the coalition practices an effective power-sharing formula, respects and accepts religious and racial diversity, and opposes the exploitation of race and religion for political expediency.
It stressed that the coalition is a tested multi-party coalition and, after 55 years, it still represents all the peoples of all the states in Malaysia.
"We practice the politics of consensus and inclusiveness. All views are considered, all voices are heard," the manifesto said.
It said the Barisan shares people's hopes and aspirations as it strives to make them a reality for all.
In saying the Barisan is about a promise of hope, the manifesto said the coalition will bring the country and its people to a new level of excellence and service predicated on the concept of People First, Performance Now.
