Umno Wanita chief Datuk Seri
Shahrizat Abdul Jalil Friday urged the people to value their democrative
rights as voters and not follow their emotions when voting.
She said this was crucial as the decision by the 13,268,002 registered
voters on polling day, May 5, will determine the future of the country's
coming generations.
"In the 13th general election (GE13), set your emotions aside as your
vote is very important, because it is a trust. Your vote must not be
misused as a protest or be wasted," she said after visiting the Mambau
MCA operations room in Taman Rasah Jaya, in Seremban, Friday.
Shahrizat was asked to comment on the crisis in the opposition pact
which showed that they were not on the same page although they had been
claiming otherwise.
Also present during her visit were the BN candidate for the Mambau state
seat and national Wanita MCA chief, Datuk Yu Chok Tow, and BN candidate
for the Rahang state seat, Julia Wong Pik Min.
Shahrizat said voters should think rationally and consider the track
record of the candidates or party before casting their votes, and not
because their choice was influenced by the lies and slander flying
around.
On the chances of the BN women candidates in GE13, Shahrizat said their
chances of winning were good as women elected representatives were
generally known to be hardworking and committed, while women party
members were always the backbone of any political party machinery.
