PAS President Admits Disagreement Within Opposition Pact

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang Sunday admitted that disputes occurred within the opposition pact in the allocation of Parliamentary seats to be contested in the 13th general election (GE13).

He said such disputes were normal because in any political party there would always be more than one candidate wishing to contest in a particular constituency.

"This is normal in any party where everyone wants to be a candidate...normal for the people to be highly spirited. When they are in high spirits, they want to show off their 'act'.

"What is final is to wait for the nomination day...wait for the candidates named," he said at a media conference announcing the list of PAS candidates contesting in the GE13 in Sarawak, in Kota Samarahan.

At the press conference, Abdul Hadi announced seven PAS candidates who would be contesting, including a non-Muslim candidate, Ambrose Labang Jamba who is contesting on the PAS ticket in Julau, Abang Ahmad Kerdee Abang Masagus (Kota Samarahan), and Robby@Muhammad Zaid Tandang (Sibuti).

The others who would be contesting are Mohamad Jolhi (Batang Sadong), Ajiji Fauzan (Igan), Jurina Mut (Tanjung Manis), and Nani Sahari (Mukah).

With the announcement, there will be two Parliamentary constituencies where PAS and the PKR are contesting.

In a press conference earlier, Sarawak PKR chairman Baru Bian had introduced the party's potential candidates for the two constituencies, namely Dr Ramblam Rahmat (Kota Samarahan), and Andy Wong Hong Yu (Julau).
