Anwar Unfit To Be Pakatan Rakyat Leader, Says Karpal

PENANG, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- DAP national chairman Karpal Singh has described Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor and de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as unfit to be party leader for promoting a culture of party hopping.
Karpal, who is also member of parliament for Bukit Gelugor, also hit out at the opposition leader for his action.
"Anwar Ibrahim must repent for his action, and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) should look for a new leader and not one that promotes party hopping."
He was speaking to reporters at his here today, following a police report lodged by Umno Youth over his move to sue the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, who had consented to the formation of a new Perak state government.
Karpal also stresed that Anwar should answer a lot of questions pertaining to the current turmoil in PR.
He also expressed his disappointment with a number of PKR and DAP leaders who supported the idea of party hopping.
Karpal said DAP leaders should instead give their support to him as the party's national chairman, and not to Anwar.
"I regret that I am not able to get support even from my party leaders. Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng should support me, not give statements supporting Anwar Ibrahim.
"I request support....I am the chairman of DAP. And I warn my party leaders not to push me too far. I have been patient all this while, don't make matters come to a head in the interest of PR and DAP," he said.
Karpal said PR should ensure that it remained strong and received the full support of the people in the next general election to take over the government from Barisan Nasional.
"Dont' take for granted the trust given by the people. The mandate to form a government should come from the people," he added.



tunku : now only he realized that anwar is unfit to be any type of leader.all these while they think anwar was the reason of their success in capturing 5 states but they were wrong.it was not because of anwar but pak lah. anwar just seized the opportunity served at him.But a moron will always be a moron.what happened in perak is all because of him,and maybe other states will follow too. I urge the pkr members to abundant pkr.pas and dap should have not worked with pkr. lim kit siang,lim guan eng and the pas leaders have became puppets for anwar except for karpal.karpal is wrong to say anwar has no moral in trying to seek defectors from the BN to shore up the PR, he should say that anwar has no moral value for his "luar tabiee" activity and in trying to seek defectors from the BN to shore up the PR.when anwar was the deputy pm, karpal was the first one who question anwar's sodomy activity, then echoed by mat sabu.they all have forgotten about that.
