People Will Benefit If BN Wins In Kelantan

The people stand to benefit, as promised in the Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto for Kelantan, if BN wins in the state in the 13th general election (13GE).

Machang Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said Kelantan BN would fulfil the undertakings in the manifesto, which was launched by its chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed Thursday.

On the other hand, the state government under PAS was not able to meet its promises and was owing the people for a long time, he told reporters after the launching of the BN manifesto for Kelantan at the state Umno liaison office, here, today.

"If BN is given the mandate to rule Kelantan, we will settle all debts created by the PAS state government on its behalf for the sake of the people.

"The federal government will definitely support fully the efforts of the new government in Kelantan and there is no reason for the people to reject BN in the GE13," he said. Kota Baharu Umno division chief Datuk Mohd Fatmi Che Salleh, meanwhile, said the essence of the undertakings was based on the specific interests of the people of Kelantan.

"This shows the concern of the Kelantan BN leadership led by Datuk Seri Mustapa (Mohamed), with us having specifically received the approval of the top leadership for the additional manifesto," he said.

Tumpat Umno division chief Datuk Noor Zahidi Omar said the undertakings were the best that could be enjoyed by the people of Kelantan which could turn it into a developed state.

He said the plans for the undertakings were made very carefully by taking into account the views of the multi-racial and multi-religious people.

Kelantan MIC chief M. Kuppusamy said the undertakings were much awaited by the people of Kelantan as it was the struggle of all the communities in the state.

"The manifesto is a form of defence for the downtrodden such as those involved in the people's plantation issue or can't afford to buy a house."

He said the manifesto made by the BN government was not like the promises of the present state government.

"PAS has ruled Kelantan for 20 years, but it has not been able to develop the state during the period.

"BN will carry out all its promises if the people give it the opportunity to administer the state," he added.

Kota Baharu MCA division chief Tan Ken Ten said BN's undertakings covered all groups without neglecting any community or race.

"The manifesto is fair and I believe all will benefit from the undertakings if BN is given the mandate by the people," he added.
