Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the people of Malaysia must evaluate sensibly which party they want to pick in the general election, to ensure stability.
He said, Malaysia currently had a two-party system, a multi-racial ruling party which had shared power for 55 years and its challenger which had also practiced the sharing of power.
"The question is which party is qualified to run the nation? I find that the ruling party understands the concept of sharing better compared to the challenger," he said when speaking at a 2013 Education Leadership Forum organised by the Council Of School Principals Malaysia, Selangor Education Department and Selangor Headmasters Council, here, Tuesday.
More than 1,400 people attended the event at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters, here.
Dr Mahathir said, the opposition pact was still not united and differed in opinion among them but on the other hand the ruling party has cooperated for 55 years and understood each other and sacrificed to ensure peace of the nation.
