Former Paya Besar PKR division chief Zahari Mamat has quit the party
along with 500 members due to loss of faith in the party leadership.
Zahari,
who is contesting as an Independent in the Paya Besar parliamentary
constituency, accused the party leadership of deviating from its
original struggle.
"There is cronyism in choosing candidates to represent the party in the GE13," he told a press conference here Monday.
Zahari's resignation comes before any move was made by Pahang PKR to sack him.
State PKR chairman Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman said on Sunday that PKR would sack two party members in Pahang, including Zahari, for contesting as independent candidates.
