Three by-elections on April 7

KUCHING: The Election Commission has fixed March 29 as nomination day for the Batang Ai by-election, while polling day is on April 7.
The nomination and polling dates are the same as the by-elections for the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat in Perak and the Bukit Selambau state seat in Kedah.
Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof announced the dates after the Commission met at the Kuching Hilton Wednesday.
The Batang Ai seat fell vacant following the death of four-term assemblyman Datuk Dublin Unting Ingkot on Feb 24.
Ingkot, also former state Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) vice-president, died nine months after he fell into coma following a stroke.
PRS, a Dayak-based Barisan Nasional component party, is expected to meet Thursday to decide on the candidate for the by-election.
Barisan is expected to face PKR, part of the Pakatan Rakyat alliance, and independent(s) in the fight.

tunku : very wise decision by EC. same day will mean less tension and less time wasted.the current scenario needs the nation to concentrate on economic crisis not polls.

My dear Tunku,

Stop betraying yourself as a lapdog and apologist of Elections Commission and BN. It is crystal clear EC collaborates with BN to have all 3 by-elections on same day to wear down resources of PR. Insyallah, PR will win because this is Allah's will to punish evil doers in BN like Najis and Taib Mahmud. Have a nice day my dear Tunku

anon(unnamed human),
there's advantage and disadvantage for both side and look it at a broader view.come out from your small box where you live in full of lies.
you used the word Allah but you call people najis etc.Are you a muslim in the first place as nowadays anyone can use the word Allah i guess.if a muslim they won't use the word Allah to curse people.

If Anonymous(March 4,2009 4.08 p.m.)regard Najib and Taib Mahmud as evildoers in BN,likewise don't forget that there are also many others that regard a good number of PR politicians namely Anwar, Karpal, Ngeh, Nizar, Nga, Sivakumar, etc.as evil doers too.
