Fairus quit to pursue further studies: Anwar

PETALING JAYA: Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin quit as Penang Deputy Chief Minister 1 because he wants to pursue post-graduate studies.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who revealed this said, however, Fairus had yet to decide where he would be studying.
“He has received a few offers. He has not decided yet,” he told a press conference on Saturday after opening the Seri Setia assemblyman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad’s service centre in Kelana Jaya here on Saturday.
Anwar said this in response to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Engs announcement that Fairus had quit as deputy chief minsiters and as a member of the state executive council effective April 8.
Anwar added however Fairus was not quitting as Penanti assemblyman.
“He can still remain as the elected representative while pursuing his studies. There is no problem as he can return weekly to serve the constituents,” he said.
Asked if Fairus was quitting because of allegations of corrupt practices, Anwar said it was the media that made such speculations.
Asked who would be taking over Fairus post, Anwar said the question of replacement did not arise as Lim would play an acting role.
At the function earlier, Anwar accepted 500 membership applications from MIC Kelana Jaya branch members.

tunku : what a moron excuse.why on earth he ran for the election if he wants to further his studies? who will serve penanti people when this guy will go for his further studies? pkr...full of dirt.this is what happens when you put idiots to serve people.

A case of a basket full of bad apples (UMNO) blaming a bad apple in the basket full of good apples (PR).

Other than having lots of dirty money, UMNO has no moral conscience to say the least.

Sometimes I do wonder whether this Tunku is just a comedian on a paid assignment by UMNO.

the problem lies with pr people. they think they are all maksum, righteous.

now, when the truth comes out, you cannot accept it.

to deflect the problem, blame umno as usual. this is what anwar has been doing.

anwar himself is not an angel, bro. wake up.
