PENANG, March 22 (Bernama) -- Penang Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chairman Datuk Zahrain Mohamed Hashim said the outcome of the probe into an allegation of corruption involving two of the party's state leaders would be known next week.
He said the panel headed by Penang State Assembly Speaker Abdul Halim Hussain had been given three weeks to investigate the allegation by Kepala Batas PKR Youth chief Amizudin Ahmat.
It had been alleged that two PKR party leaders had been involved with local quarry operators to cover up illegal activities in the state.
"Although there is no news regarding the investigation, I believe the result should be out by next week as the panel had begin its investigation early this month," Zahrain told Bernama when contacted today.
The four-member panel was set up on March 16. Its three other members are Penang State Assembly deputy speaker Tan Hock Leong, Batu Uban assemblyman S. Raveentharan and Pantai Jerjak assemblyman Sim Tze Tzin.
tunku : if it was Umno, they have demanded the MACC to act, make 1000 police reports, make street demonstrations etc but it is pkr, so sweep everything under the carpet and just tell people that they have set up panel to investigate and if there is solid evidence then someone will be the scapegoat. pkr....full of dirt lead by a pathetic moron.
