Khairy Lodges Police Report Over Defamatory Book

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 (Bernama) -- Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin today lodged a police report against the author of a book which he claimed had defamed him.
Khairy made the report at the Brickfields police headquarters, having arrived there with four other people at 10.15am.
"The (release of the) book is a deliberate attempt to undermine my image and political career," Khairy told reporters almost two hours later, after lodging the report.
He said he had not known the author previously and that they had first met at his Kuala Lumpur office on Feb 17.
"He came to my office on Feb 17 and demanded that I pay him RM100,000 or he would publish the book," he said, adding that he declined to entertain the author.Khairy said the author claimed that the publication of the book was sponsored by his (Khairy's) political rivals in Umno.
"I have also learned that copies of the book have been distributed to several Umno delegates over the past week," he said.

tunku : so brave of the author to come to your office and demand RM100k.why didn't you report this to the police earlier.it was clear a blackmail case.we hope the police will act fast on this report.i wonder why khairy do not want to lodge report on raja petra who publish "hikayat khairy" through malaysiatoday? does it mean that whatever wrote about him in hikayat khairy is true? or this is cheap way for khairy to seek for sympathy vote?

Almost at his last breath he still wants to cheat and lie.
RM 100,000 is too little an amount to ask from Khairy. Is that not fishy enough?
Woi! Khairy kalau nak buat cerita pun biar cerdik sikit. Bukan kamu sorang saja yg lulus Oxfart.
Kalau dah berok tu berok jugak!
