Tun Mahathir's ailment due to problem with lungs, not heart: Marina

Tun Mahathir Mohamad, who was hospitalized Monday with breathing trouble, is recovering well and his ailment is unrelated to his past heart problems, his daughter,Marina said Wednesday.
"Doctors told us that there is some congestion in his lungs, something he tends to get. He is susceptible to cold," Marina Mahathir told reporters at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur.
Tun Mahathir, 81, was flown there on Tuesday after receiving overnight emergency treatment at a hospital on the northern island resort of Langkawi.
The former premier had just arrived in Langkawi on Monday morning for a holiday with his wife when he started having difficulty breathing.
He underwent a heart bypass operation in 1989 and last November he spent five days at the National Heart Institute after complaining of chest pain.
In a press statement issued Wednesday, the institute said Tun Mahathir "has continued to show improvement to treatment."
"Currently, doctors treating Tun Dr. Mahathir are happy with his positive response to the treatment," it said.
