My people support me: Nasarudin

IPOH: Bota assemblyman Datuk Nasarudin Hashim has claimed that his constituents were supportive of his decision to quit Umno and join PKR.
The former Parit MP however said that he would meet with his people to properly explain his move to them.
“Many of them agree with my decision (to defect to PKR). I will go down to Bota to give them an explanation,” he said after paying a courtesy visit to Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin at the latter’s office here on Wednesday.
Nizar said that the state government would soon host a function at the Bota stadium for this purpose.
On whether Nasarudin would resign as assemblyman and contest instead under the PKR ticket, Nizar said:
“He does not need to because the regulations do not require it. He will just remain as the Bota assemblyman.
“If he resigns, he faces the risk of not being able to contest for the next five years.”
Both Nizar and Nasarudin also claimed that the latter had not been promised any positions in the Perak state government.
“No, there was no such offer,” said Nasarudin.
Nizar said that Nasarudin’s decision was made based on his own honest desire to work with the Perak government.
“Anyway, if a person makes a decision to defect, he should not be disturbed or pressured by anyone -- his decision should be respected,” he said.

tunku : that is your people, not those who voted for BN in the last GE. We challenge nasarudin, if he rally has the people supports, just resign and contest again on pkr's ticket.

I totally agree!

YB Nasarudin Hashim was voted because he contested on BN ticket, not because he is "Nasarudin Hashim". Who is "Nasarudin Hashim"? People gave him face because he is an UMNO officer bearer, hence BN nominated him as a candidate.

Could he win the State Assembly seat for Bota if he contested as an independent?

He should vacate his seat and contest again either as a PKR or independent candidate!

weirdly, now nizar said that PR should follow regulations (federal).
But when it comes to giving land to the chinse, he told that we need not to follow the regulations (federal).
apa sudah jadi? Nizar pun flip flop macam Pak Lah.

I have been reading your comments and have noted you to be a fair person even though you may be bias or what you will call yourself as very loyal to UMNO.

However it was UMNO who had encouraged frogs to jump over to UMNO in Sabah and caused the downfal of a legitimately elected government. These frogs were challenged to resign and to seek re-elections but they did not even though they have signed a letter saying that they would resign if they hop over to another party after the election.

This defection is very bitter medicine to UMNO. Even though I do not agree with any party jumping, I welcome it just for the lesson to be learnt and that it did not change any governmental power.

Nasarudin must get the fact straight.ask anyone in his constituency whether they know who's Nasarudin before the issue if him hopping to PKR burst out.

i dont mind much if anyone from BN jump over to PR or the other way around.but i do mind of wanting to create a new govt by all this party hopping.that's rather unethical.

your people?who's people are you talking about?the people close to you or the people in Bota?.

Anwar must be boasting around by now with the hopping by Nasaruddin.the rumor that there was the other BN represtative to hop to PKR was declined when both of the representative made an oath to stay loyal with their current party.
