Shahrizat Abides By PM's Advice Not To Contest Against Rafidah

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Wanita Umno No. 2 Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said Monday she would abide by the advice of Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi not to contest against Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz at the party elections in December.
She also accepted Rafidah's offer to hand over the post of Wanita Umno chief to her by the middle of next year.
"When Rafidah made the offer and the president (Abdullah) agreed with it, I decided to abide by the president's advice and request," she told reporters after attending the "Women with the Leaders" conference organised by Wanita Umno, here.
Earlier, at the opening of the conference by Abdullah, Rafidah announced that she would defend the post of Wanita Umno chief in December and hand over the post to Shahrizat by the middle of next year.
Shahrizat, who was touched by Rafidah's offer, said she hoped that Wanita Umno members would accept the decision for the sake of continuity and unity in the movement.

tunku : must abide pak lah's advice, otherwise shahrizat will be out of job as pak lah's adviser with salary more than 30k a month.money and position is everything in umno now, what the sentiment on the ground, to hell with it.just like pak lah, when rafidah announced she's resigning no one cried or shocked with the announcement, everyone was happy to hear it.that shows how people think of you.

umno perlu kebangkitan menyeluruh dr seluruh ahlinya kalau ingin terus relevan.

Looks like the pattern is the same. One promises to hand over the Chair and the other is touched. But the grassroot is waiting to give the top leaders a standing ovation when they do step down now!

At least she stepped down earlier, for the sake of the unity and the continuity in the party, since the party in destabilizes for the moment.

dia bukan turun sebab "demi parti", dia turun sebab dia tau org dah naik meluat tgk muka dia dah. dlm wanita sendiri ada tentangan hebat dah. kalau tak org tak tepuk tgn beriya2 la bila dia kata dia nak berhenti.

one thing that politician should not lack off is patience.so shall i say politician bettor to wait than to show their impatience to hold some position in a party.

Rafidah gonna step down next year so wo worries for Shahrizat as she'll the post by that time.

when disaster is going to hit hard on yr party, u need to act fast, there's no time to act patience.the longer you hold to it, the more disaster happens.

Are tears the only sign that a leader is respected or thought higly of? You must be so shallow. What do you expect, you want other people to wail and cry loudly like what Rafidah did when Tun M announced he is stepping down?

Itu maknanya sedih sebab apa? Kontrak dan kronyism pihak Tun M aklan stop bila dia berhenti ke?

prokontrapr ,
so u must be pak lah crony then.
grow up unmatured kids.
if people happy the leaders is goingg away that means they HATE THEM.
this is another type of denial syndrome by pak lah group.

JARO, and let me guess you must be PR's people. Cant wait for PR to steal the mlimelight so they can have their share too? I donno, I just twisting back what you say to that fella.

They say actions speak louder than words, do they really? The point here is not about that. "happy" because leaders are leaving? Up to you, but happy and about who the hell going to take over afterwards, that is either they will laugh or even cry over it later.
