Ibrahim: Hadi’s speech lacks direction

IPOH: Pasir Mas MP Datuk Paduka Ibrahim Ali has criticised PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s opening address at the muktamar for being too general and lacking direction.
He said the speech lacked the punch that could galvanise the Islamist party to strengthen its position in the new political landscape.
Ibrahim, who is a strategic ally of PAS and the sole Independent MP, expressed disappointment that Abdul Hadi did not press for a review of fuel prices despite global prices having dropped significantly.
Abdul Hadi should have touched on the worries that certain types of Umno “culture” were starting to creep into PAS, Ibrahim said on the sidelines of the three-day muktamar at Stadium Indera Mulia.
“There is no strong self-criticism within the party to warn members that they risk going down the same road as Umno,” he said.
He claimed some PAS members were becoming greedy, jostling for timber concession projects and some were even lobbying for Datukships.
PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa described Abdul Hadi’s keynote opening address as one that should end the confusion about the party’s political role following uncertainty during the polemic debate about the PAS-Umno muzakarah (dialogues).
Perak DAP chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said it was a good speech, adding that the DAP has become “seasoned” with PAS as it has worked with the Islamist party since 1999.

tunku : hadi awang has lost his political charm.he is no longer himself and pas is no longer the party it use to be.they changes their stands just to get some position.

Yes like Dato Paduka Ibrahim Ali said we have heard that the Pakatan leaders esp the excos are out for "what is there for me". They are just the same "Make hay while the sun shine". They are looking for projects. land amd timber deals rather than anything else. They said open tender but "open" to their own people. So much for the words cleaning the Ex BN states, Yes Cleaning all right, to fill their own people pockets.

Hadi is not as stern as before.During the Dr.M era,he's being labelled as an ouspoken and couraging PAS leader.now he seems to be a little soft.perhaps due to his age or being "warned" by Tok Guru.who knows.

Hadi also had made statement that PAS dare to stand alone if Pakatan Rakyat arent ascertain to uphold Islam.the real question is will PAS be able to stand on their own?.PAS must keep in mind that Malaysia is a multiracial nation. They must also consider supports from non-muslim as well in order to survive in a long term.
