Pak Lah shrugs off talk of political uncertainty

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has scoffed at statements by the Opposition that the country is facing an uncertain future, particularly so after the by-election in Permatang Pauh.
The Prime Minister said there had been many by-elections before and they had not affected political stability.
“What political uncertainty are you talking about?
“What has that got to do with political stability? We have had other by-elections before. One by-election does not make a difference whatsoever to the situation here,” he told reporters after chairing the first Economic Council meeting.
On statements by PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim predicting that the Government would fall on Sept 16, Abdullah said they were speculation to “profit” certain quarters.
“What has Anwar not said about us? He has been talking about all sorts of negative things. He’s been talking about the no-confidence vote in Parliament – what happened to that?
“He keeps on saying all these things in order to remind the people that he’s going to be Prime Minister,” he said.
On the Barisan Nasional candidate for Permatang Pauh, Abdullah said he would make the announcement once a person has been shortlisted and the “list of names of candidates had never been long in the first place”.

tunku : we admit that it is because of anwar, we are seeing political uncertainties in malaysia now. the economy too not doing well because of part of this factor. some investors had show lack of confidence of our economy because of political scenario.it's anwar who is behind it because he wants bn government to collapse so that he can take over easily. to me anwar is not the main factor for all these, it's pak lah, his poor leadership has made all these happened. if he's a strong leader 100 anwars can do any harm but because of his weak leadership, 1/2 anwar can shake him off.

i dont think Pak Lah is a weak leader.it's just that many people takes advantage of his openness.

we have to admit Tun Dr.Mahathir and Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is two different leaders.both have their own ways.

about Anwar, one of the "uncertainty" here caused by him.he makes so much speculations and theories that makes the investors think twice to invest here.

I agree with your statement that because of ANWAR, we are facing political uncertainties. The economy became weak which the investors start to run away from our country. This is sad. Who knows what might happen if he really take over this country. I can't imagine the riots and the bad consequences we are to face when he become the PM. ANWAR should not be the PM, and will never should be the PM.

AAB leadership is different from TDM. U can't judge his capability of leadership with the problem scenarios derived which is previously initially created by TDM and now blows up during this current time. This is not the measurement of his leadership strength.

To pin this on Pak Lah alone is unfair.
Anwar had done these to our country long before Pak Lah's reign. Tun M was the 1st to had a taste of Anwar's drama tactic.
the difference is that for Pak Lah, he's open to criticism but Tun M it's like a taboo.
So for you will you go for openness or dictatorship?

only stupid pm like badawi can tolerate anwar nonsence. if this is called openness, i rather have dictatorship style as it won't harm the country's economy.

Say no to Anwar! He is a flip flop person. Saya setuju dengan koala bear. Pak Lah bukannya lemah tapi sikap keterbukaannyalah yang membuatkan ramai yang mengambil kesempatan terhadap beliau...

does this man called Pak Lah knows what's happening around him? I doubt. our economic will soon collapse, not because of anwar. it's poor leadership, that's all. Pak Lah doesn't know economy neither does he know management. UMNO and BN is ruined and members are leaving for the Opposition. it's natural for people to seek an alternative when they failures all round them.

Semua ni Anwar punya kerja. Lpas dia keluar dari kandang je huru hara terus keadaan. Sana sini dia buat kacau. Orang macam ni nak jadi PM? Tak payah lah, hancur esok Malaysia.

Saya tak setuju Anwar menyebabkan Pak Lah lemah.

His management is not that good compared to TDM, but he is catching up the pace. He understand that we want changes and reforms and he promised that in 2003. Now he is giving all the changes we all wanted. I felt that eventhough in the mean time the country is shaken a little with mudsliging politics and weaken economy, these are the consequences we had to bear if we want this county to be better for the future.
