Will Tian Chua turn up again this time

City Hall Wants Kampung Semarak, Loke Yew Squatters To Relocate Amicably
KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur City Hall is urging the remaining 109 squatter families in Kampung Semarak and Kampung Loke Yew to shift to the Sri Semarak Public Housing Project by Thursday.
Mayor Datuk Ab Hakim Borhan said City Hall would help them shift by providing workers and lorries to their new homes with rental of RM124 per month.
"The Duta-Hulu Kelang Highway (Duke) concessionaire is also giving compensation of RM2,000 to each household," he told reporters here Wednesday.

Ab Hakim also asked the affected squatters to respect the decision of the Federal Court in dismissing their application to appeal on their case on last March 15.
He said with that decision, the 109 squatter households in the two areas had no choice but to vacate their homes to make way for the Duke project.
He said he was aware that the squatters refused to move because they had wanted to buy and not to rent the Sri Semarak low-cost flats.
"They should understand that there are many relocated former squatters who want to buy the flats.
"We will decide on this matter after the Federal Territories Ministry has studied the policy on selling such units, and priority will be given to those who rent the units," he added.
He declined to comment when asked about City Hall's action if the squatters refused to move, but was confident that they would.
"There's no excuse not to move as the Public Housing Project units are just 500 metres away from their squatter homes," he said.

tunku : squatters is always pain in ***. just imagine leaving in a house for free, no monthly payments, no nothing. and when come the time to move out they demand sky.they can afford to buy cars, some luxury but could not afford to buy a house. government is giving them house at a subsidised price still they make havoc during evacuation.just see dbkl giving them lorries, personnel, RM 2000 to move out from kg semarak to a new housing area which is 500 metres away with a monthly rental of RM 124.there are people who is poorer than some of the squatters but still manage to rent house and buy low cost house.that is not your property so move out when you are ask to move out.suddenly the put up umno and bn flags to seek sympathy. you people are disgusting and a shame to the society.you just stay there and hope you'll get tonnes of money.let us see the final date for them to move, will another incident occurs.
