Kelantan, Penang Umno supports 2010 transition plan

KOTA BARU: Kelantan and Penang Umno are all for the handover of power from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in 2010.
Kelantan Umno chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, said the state Umno liaison body meeting on Monday, which was attended by almost all division chiefs, reached a unanimous decision to support the power transition plan.
Gua Musang Umno head Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who had announced his intention to contest for the party’s presidency, was absent.
Annuar said Kelantan Umno would continue to support the Abdullah-Najib leadership so that the power transition went on smoothly. ”We want Datuk Seri Najib to take over the leadership when Umno is strong,” he said.
In GEORGE TOWN, all 13 Penang Umno divisions and Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings have given their full support to the proposed transition of power.
State Umno liaison committee deputy chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Abdullah announced that all the divisions and wings have pledged to nominate Abdullah and his deputy Najib for the party president and deputy president’s posts respectively.
“Today we reiterate the pledge made when the plan was first announced. We gave our full support then and we will continue to do so when the divisions convene for the AGMs soon.
“We will nominate Abdullah for the top post. We will defend the position of our president.
“The decision is unanimous. We believe that the transition plan was made with sincerity, so we hope that it (the plan) will get similar support and respect nationwide,” he said.
The pledge was made to Abdullah on Monday at the state Umno liaison committee closed-door meeting at Menara Umno here.
The nominations for party posts will take place when the divisions convene their AGMs between Oct 9 and Nov 9.

tunku : this is the unanimous decision of the leaders not the members.is this what we call democracy in umno where the leaders decide who to support or what to support and what not? again by doing so the lifespan of umno will be shorter and shorter as more and more people are going to get fed up with umno.because of these leaders, umno has to suffer.get rid of them.it is because of these type of leaders that umno and bn had lost so many states.totally ignorant and arrogant.

I was right about that last Umno Supreme Council meeting after all. Despite all the talk of "heated" and "Abdullah `taking it'", NOTHING had changed.

UMNO Supreme Council & media `kena kencing' by drug-addicted President!
