BNBBC Delegation Transits In Hong Kong, In No Hurry To Return Home

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The members of parliament from Barisan Nasional's Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) who were on a study trip to Taipei, are now "transitting" in Hong Kong.
And, they are in no hurry to return home as yet.
A member of the delegation said they were extending their stay in Hong Kong to discuss and sort out a few issues, but dismissed that had anything to do with the speculated 'jumping ship' to Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
"No, there is nothing on (any) crossover. I believe, by now, it is obvious that the opposition had failed in its desperate mission to influence us to join them," BNBBC vice-chairman and MP for Batu Pahat Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi told Bernama when contacted in Hong Kong.
"None of us met any of the them in Taipei. We had dinner with the Malaysian Consulate in Taipei last night, and by the time we reached the hotel, it was quite late.
"I believe everyone had retired early as we had to reach the airport at 3am to catch the 6am flight out of Taipei," he said in reference to the five PR MPs who went to Taipei Friday in a bid to meet and coax the BN lawmakers to crossover. Dr Mohd Puad said the delegation managed to fly out of Taipei this morning, just in time before its airport was closed due to the Typhoon Sinlaku attack.
"We were supposed to fly back to Kuala Lumpur on a 9am flight Saturday, but it was changed to a much earlier flight due to the typhoon," he added.
He said currently, there were 38 MPs with him in Hong Kong, while the rest had left Taipei earlier. Other MPs are still stranded in Taipei as they could not get an early flight out.
"Besides, it is also a good opportunity for us to familiarise and get to know each other better as we did not have the time since the general election," he said.
Meanwhile, BNBBC chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said he was informed by a backbencher on the PR's attempt to get them.
"He told me the PKR people found ways to talk to him, even to the extent of calling his room.
"But he had refused to meet and talk to them," Tiong, who is now in China, said when contacted. -- BERNAMA

dear tunku,

the latest info i got was DSAI wanted to negotiate his sodomy charges with Pak Lah. Hence, the meeting. If Pak Lah can soehow throw away his charges, then he will help Pak Lah retain the premiership.

That was the real reason behind this meeting.
