Anwar to know on Oct 7

KUALA LUMPUR: Sessions Court Judge SM Komathy Suppiah has set Oct 7 to deliver her decision on whether to transfer the sodomy trial of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to the High Court.
The judge said she needed two weeks to consider the submissions from both parties.
DPP Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden had argued Wednesday that the Sessions Court did not have the inherent jurisdiction to hear the case.
Anwar's counsel Sulaiman Abdullah told the court that Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail had no right to sign the certificate to transfer the case to the High Court.
The defence had also argued that Abdul Gani was being investigated following a complaint that he had tampered with evidence in Anwar’s cases 10 years ago.
The PKR adviser was charged on Aug 7 with sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan. He had pleaded not guilty.
Anwar is accused of committing the offence at Desa Damansara Condominium in Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara, between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26.
If convicted, he can be jailed up to 20 years and whipped for voluntarily committing unnatural sex under Section 377B of the Penal Code.
He was at the Sessions Court at 9.58am on Wednesday, accompanied by his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and lawyer S.N. Nair.

tunku : again postponed, we hope this case won't be delayed too much as it is very high priority case. people have to know the outcome of the case asap.

Terlalu banyak delay kes ni. Lagi cepat lagi bagus. Lebih banyak masa diberikan, lebih banyak tricks yang dapat di invent oleh orang-orang dari khemah DSAI.

No wonder Anwar suddenly make a police report on AG after few years of case just to be able to say prosecute the AG before investigation by saying that the AG has tempered the last evidence.. he might do the same for this case.. yups brilliant..
