Take stern action, urges Armed Forces chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal has proposed that the Government take stern action against those who stoke racial sentiments.
He said racial issues should not be raised as it could create chaos and disorder.
"Racial issues are the most feared by security forces as they could lead to chaos. They are a security threat," he said at the Wanita Umno Hari Raya contribution presentation to the Armed Forces and the police at the Putra World Trade Centre here on Tuesday.
Speaking at the same event, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said street politics is under control and peace is upheld.
He added that the police force is in a state of readiness to face such occurrences.
"We are ready to work day and night, rain or shine, without food and drink to ward off such threats," he said.
Earlier, Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz said Malaysians should not question each other's racial backgrounds and issues regarding nationality and loyalty.
She also said that street demonstations and the mob spirit should be rejected as it affects public peace and security.
Rafidah added that this would further burden the police which already has the task of maintaining public order and combating crime.

tunku : yes, take very stern action on those idiots.may they be from umno, dap or any other parties.the previous leaders had done so much for national integrity and keep things under control. the current leadership should be bold enough and do something about it before it get out of hand.we malaysian wants to continue living in peace and harmony with each other.

Well,

I am in the opinion that, in order to stabilize the political scenario, the armed forces should take over the government.

Well, most of the people in Malaysia are fed up with BN and Pakatan rakyat. The economy is at it worst.,AAB-the flip-flop PM seem to be not in control, so does Najib. Anwar, the master illussionist if given power will sell off Malaysia. KJ will also sell off Malaysia to the highest bidder. Tunku Razaleigh has passed his prime...., so the best alternative is a coup by the ARMY.

What say you...., you all seem ready for that....

Anonymous,

If the army's reporting line is direct to Sri Paduka Baginda Yang diPertuan Agung, I agree with your suggestion. But the issue is that the army is directly under the Minister of Defence. So, by getting army taking over, it's just like AAB and NAR strengthening their positions.

I stand to be corrected.

we hope there's no need to use Armed force unless if it's really necessary.the Ahmad case is still under control with no race riot so far.keep it that way.

but i do agree that the Govt must take stern action against those who stoke racial sentiments.all that should be done regardless of political ideology.no matter which party you're from, action must be taken.

there should be no room for racism.

There were many issues that used to be sensitive like communism, the rights of the black and apartheid. The above had been out fashion and today if one claim himself as communist, he would be send to mental hospital instead of political detention camp, why after 51 years of independent we are still haunted by racial issues. The kampong Malayu and kampong China that lie beside the national trunk road Jalan JB / Air Hitam look almost the same as 20 years back.

I am 50 now, I still can remember the day I was first in secondary school, full of dreams, ambitious and flame in the heart dedicated to the goods of my beloved country Malaysia. With years gone by the flame is diminishing, almost extinct.

To be fair, there were improvements of course, many own cars and live in own houses instead of rubber estate and wooden huts but is this achievement comparable with our neighboring countries?

If Tunku is of my age, I am pretty sure that you will agree with me that surrounding Malay, Chinese, Indian friends were more like family than today!

Being in the government is servants to the countryman. Serve the country right and serve it well.

The MP was chose to serve the constituency and not as bully.
