Mohammad Fairus Quits Penanti Seat

PENANG, April 16 (Bernama) -- Former Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin today announced that he has resigned as the Penanti state assemblyman effective today to concentrate on his studies and family.
He said this in a statement e-mailed to Bernama here today.
He had earlier resigned from his position as the deputy chief minister (1) and state exco member on April 8 after he was embroiled in a graft allegation linking to illegal quarry operations in the Penang mainland.
His resignation today as the state representative would necessitate a by-election for the state seat in the next 60 days.

tunku : what's going on, by election after by election. enough is enough. why he has to quit? wait till his case(corruption) is investigated and if found guilty then only quits.we can't be wasting tax payers money like this.we need to concentrate on our economy. we had 2 by elections which we was not supposed to have, the permatang pauh and bukit selambau , now this penanti seat.thank God eli wong did not quit the bukit lenjan seat.we hope the pakatan state assemblyman and mps will be more responsible and next time please put someone with integrity,if they have.all the mess coming from the moron's party.
