Mini Budget Expected To Exceed RM10 Billion

KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Kong Cho Ha said that a part of the second economic stimulus package or the Mini Budget will involve an estimated spending of RM10 billion.
Kong said this to reporters after the first reading of the Supplementary Supply Bill 2009 at the Dewan Rakyat sitting Thursday.
He said the projected RM10 billion will involve RM5 billion for development expenditure and the remaining for management.
"At the moment I think it's five plus five. That is what was tabled today. All will know on March 10," he said when met by reporters at the Parliament lobby Thursday.
The second reading of the Supply Bill will be debated at 4pm coming Tuesday, March 10.
During the Parliament session, Dr Tan Seng Giaw (DAP-Kepong) had asked if that (the Bill) was the mini budget of RM5 billion that will be tabled on Tuesday.
Deputy Speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the reading had referred the mini budget as the supplementary bill as the term - mini budget - was not covered in Dewan Rakyat.

tunku : i think 10 billion would not be enough. hope that government will come out with at least 20 billion stimulus package. 10-15 billion should be spend on development alone.hope the government will do a thorough study before tabling it.
