Nik Aziz Avoids Question On Candlelight Virgil

KOTA BAHARU, July 22 (Bernama) -- PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat avoided a question on the party's Perak Deputy Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin's participation in last Friday's candlelight vigil in memory of political aide Teoh Beng Hock.
Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also Kelantan Menteri Besar, instead berated on the takeover of the Perak state government by Barisan Nasional and ticked off Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
"He (Zambry) not only went against Islamic rules but also chose to disregard democratic rules... That is my answer," Nik Aziz told reporters at his office in Kota Darul Naim here Wednesday before leaving for Salor.
Nik Abdul Aziz was asked to comment on Zambry's remarks that PAS ulama should issue a fatwa (religious ruling) on candlelight vigils like the one participated by Mohammad Nizar for the late Teoh, who fell to his death at the MACC office in Shah Alam last Thursday.

tunku : a twisted answer from a twisted tongue tok guru. his hatchet man(husam musa) had answered yesterday that it's ok for Muslim to hold candlelight vigil.this is the pas under tok guru, all the haram can be halal if it brings benefits to them.

When an Ulama plays politics upon becoming a politician, he starts to live in two different worlds. One he has to show his wisdom as an 'ulama' ; the other he has to also show his wisdom and guile to play politics with his religious knowledge.

There will be moments when he has to sacrifice his 'ulama'ship and come out with 'fatwas' to benefit his political affiliation but at the expense of contradicting his own 'ilmu agamanya' !

I would have respected him , this Tuan Guru, if he had remained as a religious scholar . But my respect for him, if there was any in the first place, dwindled fast and speedy when I observed that he started to make religiuos edicts contrary to common Islamic knowledge BUT very much subservient to the needs and survival of his political party.

It would be interesting what he makes of this candlelight vigil by the Perak Deputy Commisioner. Does his silence in this matter signal non-compliance with his other ulamak in the party ? Or is he biding his time to come out with something at the opportune time ?
Or is he keeping quiet for the time being since his henchman (HM) had already professed that what that Perak man had done was all right in the name of Islam. Interesting to see bigots at work !!!

To PAS, Nik Aziz is a great leader BUT since Anwar take control of PR they totally forgotten that Allah The Almighty is The Greatest of All....

Nik Aziz's opinions dah tak boleh pakai lagi. He's just a biased, old man who has gradually become a liability to PAS.If the party is serious in preparing for PRU 13, they should likewise seriously consider replacing their old "ketinggalan zaman" leaders with the more sincere, matured , far-sighted, visionary ones.

Under Nik Ajiz and PAS, Halal can be Haram and Haram can be Halal. This is what I call PAS as Halam (Halal + Haram).
