Ex-Tourism Malaysia DG Mirza acquitted of graft charge

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court acquitted former Tourism director-general Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, 51, over the charge of accepting dental treatment worth RM13,860 from company director Zulhisyam Ayob, without consideration, in 2005.
Judge Zainal Abidin Kamarudin said the prosecution had failed to prove criminal intent on the part of Mirza.
The judge said the prosecution did not establish a prima facie case against Mirza.
