KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) -- Former MIC vice-president Datuk S.S Subramaniam joined the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Saturday.
The decision came exactly a week after former MCA vice-president Datuk Chua Jui Meng decided to cross over to the same party.
In confirming this on Saturday, Subramaniam said he joined PKR for the sake of unity as the party brought together all races in the country.
"I feel this is the party for the future. I join the party on my own free will," he said when contacted.
Subramaniam also dismissed allegations that he joined the party after being offered a certain position in the party.
"I was not promised any position (in PKR). I just joined as an ordinary member," he said.
While in MIC, Subramaniam had several times been in the limelight as he had opposed Samy Vellu on many occasions, causing him to be dropped from the vice-president's post in 1994 in favour of his successor who bears a similar name, Dr S. Subramaniam.
He was a former Parliamentary Secretary of the International Trade and Industry Ministry and Segamat Member of Parliament.
tunku : where else loser can go? of course pkr.it's a dumpsite for losers.pkr is a dumpsite for those who lost positions in their party.what a good news lately as said by the melodrama queen.we hope to hear good news from the court too.
