Kedah MB Denies Dap's Allegations On Temples

ALOR SETAR, July 4(Bernama) -- Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak refuted allegations by the DAP that the state government intended to demolish illegal Hindu and Chinese temples in the state.
He described the allegations as a deliberate attempt by the party to stir up racial issues.
"The state governmnent or the Alor Star Municipal Council (MBAS) have never discussed anything about demolishing illegal places of worship.
"The DAP says it champions the causes of all Malaysians but now suddenly comes up with such wild allegations," he said when met by reporters here Saturday.
He was commenting on the allegation by Kedah/Perlis DAP chairman Thomas Su yesterday that MBAS had been given the go ahead to tear down illegal temple structures in the municipality.
PAS and DAP have been at loggerheads in the Pakatan government in Kedah and the DAP's sole assemblymen in the coalition yesterday declared himself an independent after PAS, which leads the governmnet, ordered an illegal pig abbatoir, the only one for slaughtering pigs in Kedah, to be shut down.
On another matter, Azizan said the State Land and Mines Department had been directed to determine if reports that there were gold deposits at a quarry in Kampung Jelutong, Pendang, was true.
"If it is the case, the state's laws will be invoked pertaining to its mining," he said.
Hundreds of people are flocking to site to hunt for gold after word got out about the deposits on Wednesday.

tunku : how would dap as member in pakatan would want to accuse their own pakatan government? i wonder if these all are merely stage drama by them or really there's a big crack in their partnership.pas is the one who should leave pakatan not dap.pas should think it over.dap and pkr will never be their partners for life as they have different ideologies all together.

First about high chaparral in Penang, secondly about Pig matters in Kedah then latest about Temple in Kedah.

Now it is about time for us a a voter to really think what going to happen if Lim Kit Siang is our Deputy Prime Minister.

It is about time for Pas to unite with their muslim brothers and sisters in UMNO to form a stronger government.

It is a clear picture after the PRU12 the hope that we the voters expected from PKR, DAP and PAS is hard to come by peacefully and in organize manner.

Pakatan Rakyat is still too young and inexperience to govern this country. Let keep them only as our instrument for check and balance.

It is about time for Pas to support their original Tok Guru Hadi intention to unite all the muslims under unity government.

The very best approach for we voters to do is by coming this PRU13 we should just leave DAP alone. Let them make as much noise as they want as that is their nature.

Tunku,

I see this as an opportunity for a PAS-UMNO-led government in the making. Just cross your fingers my friend.

Tunku,
Look what happen in Selangor, just within 1year they approved 46 Chinese temple with government land. It was announced by the state Speaker YB Teng (can view in YouTube in a dinner in Klang). Khir Toyo demolished 1 illegal and they built 46 legal with land given.
After this Kedah will built more with given land or maybe the biggest Wat/temple in Asia. We will wait and see.
